This paper presents a three-stage cosmological argument. In the introduction, I explain the aims of my argument and analyze the limits of the cosmological arguments proposed thus far. The Principle of Sufficient Reason is the main weakness of these arguments. So, the first stage derives the existence of at least one necessary entity, instead, from a modest premise inspired by Armstrong’s metaphysics. Thus, a necessary entity can be derived even if the (non)existence of entities cannot have a cause, reason, explanation (...) or ground. Then, building on Wright's epistemology, the second stage shows that we are entitled to believe that at least one necessary entity is conscious. The third stage revisits Aquinas’ arguments and shows that a necessary conscious entity is trinitarian. (shrink)
