Learning activities organization of social studies based on sufficiency economy philosophy to encourage consciousness in local wisdom conservation

Abstract

Economic crisis in Thailand had affected the populace at all levels in Thailand for a long time. His Majesty King Bhumibbol Adulyadej bestowed the suggestions to Thai people the lifestyle based on sufficiency philosophy by not taking advantages from other people and not being self- indulgent. His Majesty bestowed the guidelines for people to create the balanced and sustainable development path under the globalization. The three essential components of the Philosophy are moderation, reasonableness, and self-immunity. Besides these components, there are two vital conditions to make the Philosophy work: knowledge and ethics based on Thai traditional lifestyle. Therefore, the indoctrination and learning management in schools can elevate learners in terms of learning, problem-solving, managing and adapting their lifestyle in each local resident. The activities provided for children and juvenile are expected them to learn the importance and the value of being Thai and Thai identity which are the roots of knowledge. Besides, to remind them the wisdom of ancient along with having consciousness in local wisdom conservation and helping the society to have a balanced and sustainable development path.
