The phenomenon of Orthodox sectarianism is becoming increasingly important in the context of contemporary confessional changes in Ukraine. Until the 90s of the twentieth century. the social role of Orthodox sectarianism was determined primarily by the fact that its doctrine and practice represented an attempt to create an alternative to the existing order in society. In independent Ukraine, sectarian groups of Orthodox origin have legalized their activities.

Problems of the essence of religion, its place in the history of spiritual and cultural life of the Ukrainian people were not in the field of direct scientific interests of the famous Ukrainian philosopher, long-time director of the Institute of Philosophy by H.S. Skovoroda of NAS of Ukraine, academician Myroslav Popovych. He referred to them only when comprehending the history of culture in Ukraine, some in the analysis of the twentieth century as a bloody period of world history, some in (...) explaining the problems of being human. Thus the scientist considers religion as a component of culture, and it is a complex of material, spiritual, intellectual and emotional features of society, includes the basic rules of human existence, system of values, traditions and beliefs. The article deals with the religious factor in the life of the ancient Slavs, the role of the Bible in the formation of the religious consciousness of ancient Ukrainians, the nature and evolution of the Christian doctrine. The author analyzes Popovich's thinking about the perception of Christianity by the people's consciousness with its doctrine and rituals, about finding by Christians a balance between Eros and Thanatos, about austerity, holiness, etc. (shrink)

Purpose. The author will show that metaphysical concepts and the concepts of empirical sciences derive from experience. The only difference is that metaphysical concepts derive from unusual experience, i.e. out-of-body experience, while empirical sciences – from usual one. The example set metaphysical concept of pure being. Methodology. In order to obtain this goal the author uses two methods. The first one is comparative method. With the help of this method the stories of men who experienced clinical death and returned to (...) life are compared with the famous philosophers’ metaphysical statements. The second one is transpersonal method. It helps to study the peculiarities of the extraordinary experience in the state of clinical death or mystical ecstasy. Such experience lies in experience of transcendence, pure being as light, ultimate awareness of truth, which are identical to the metaphysical statements of philosophers and mystics. These ultimate experiences belong to different people, who lived and grown in different cultures, but nevertheless metaphysical statements of philosophers or mystics and statements of the ordinary people who experienced clinical death are the same. Therefore we can say that out-of-body experience is transpersonal. Originality. Metaphysics is neither speculative nor withdrawn from experience of a human being sphere. It arises from out-of-body experience while empirical sciences – from usual experience. Therefore, metaphysical concepts, in particular, pure being, are empirical, because they are based also on experience. In general, metaphysics becomes possible on the basis of out-of-body experience. Conclusions. In this article the author argues that the concepts of metaphysics are not a priori because they originate from out-of-body experience that is from the experience of the distinction between body and soul or body and mind. As a result of such experience appear, for instance, Plato’s metaphysics, Descartes’ metaphysics, and the Christian mysticism of Bonaventure, which theoretical constructs are deriving from experience of pure being. In this context metaphysics is seen as the path of gradual separation of a human being from his or her physical body, i.e. “the art of dying”. Therefore, the author proves that there are no a priori concepts. All concepts are aposteriori, in empirical sciences and in metaphysics as well. We simply talk about two different experiences: usual and unusual experience. The author also argues that there is direct connection between out of body experience and metaphysics, mystics. In the case of out-of-body experience, the temporary death of a human being is the cause of his/her change in perception of himself/herself and the world; it is the cause of metaphysical knowledge. The article is devoted to the subjects of G. Polti’s «The Thirty-Six Dramatic Situations» and C. Booker’s «The Seven Basic Plots». Thanks to our universally-cultural method the inner deep structure of main world-famous plots is discovered. This structure looks like a combination for four ultimate basic categories, and four world contemplation codes.

Розкривається сутність дизайнерської творчості, яка має людиновимірний характер, оскільки людина є креатором дизайнерського продукту, що вимагає відповідної методологічної рефлексії і культурного осмислення. Творчість тлумачиться як цілепокладаюча діяльність, яка є суттєвою ознакою і одним з активних станів цілісної людини, що сприяє формуванню «другої природи», яка «набудовується» над природними умовами людського буття. В дизайнерській творчості як специфічній діяльності, творчість є мірою досконалості людини і дійсності, яка виступає одним із проявів буття свободи.

The city as an artificial environment was mentioned and sometimes described throughout the whole history of literature. One of the first texts in which we see the slums of a metropolis as a location both commonplace and exotic, and completely necessary for the narrative as a whole, is Petronius’s “Satiricon”. Some of its characteristics were later reproduced in the Picaresque and still later, in some of the budding genres of the XIX ct. literature. For instance, that century was formative for (...) the genres of detective and thriller. For them the big city became the perfect location. The specific places helped to define the characters’ fortune, to determine the plot development and to create the emotional atmosphere of the text. Gradually there formed a special myth of a big city, with its specific variants. The genres of thriller and detective were some of the main factors in formation of this myth. The city as a character of a novel can be represented with various degrees of accuracy, beginning with the almost-perfect description and coming to the pure fantasy. (shrink)

Статтю присвячено актуалізації батярського жаргону, одному із різновидів розмовного мовлення Львова в міжвоєнний період. Проаналізовано основні групи лексики, зафіксовані в романах Юрія Винничука «Цензор снів» (2013) і «Танґо смерті» (2016). Визначено функції львівського лексикону в художніх текстах, схарактеризовано образ батяра. Особливу увагу приділено вивченню жаргону цієї соціальної групи як мовно-психологічної характеристики персонажів.

Стаття містить аналіз дев’яти українських гомілій XVII ст., присвячених Успенню Богородиці, — проповідей Лазаря Барановича, Йоаникія Ґалятовського, Леонтія Карповича, Антонія Радивилoвського, Кирила Транквілліона-Ставровецького та Симеона Полоцького. Проповіді Полоцького розглядаються як приклад текстів, написаних для московської публіки автором, вихованим у мультиконфесійному середовищі Речі Посполитої. Авторка зосереджує свою увагу на біблійних цитатах (особливо з Пісні над Піснями 6,9 та Одкровення 12), зокрема на їхніх літургійних і позалітургійних джерелах. У статті сформульовано гіпотезу, згідно з якою руські проповідники часто запозичували образи Богородиці з західних (...) гомілетико-літургійних творів, що підтверджує низка текстуальних запозичень із творів католицької екзегетики, наприклад, Корнелія а Ляпіде, св. Бернарда та св. Бонавентури. Аналіз образу Богородиці здійснено в контексті співвідношення православ’я (включно з візантійською й ісихастською гомілетічною традицією) і католицизму в Україні XVII ст.
