    This thesis offers a naturalist revision of Alain Badiou’s philosophy. This goal is pursued through an encounter of Badiou’s mathematical ontology and theory of truth with contemporary trends in philosophy of mathematics and philosophy of science. I take issue with Badiou’s inability to elucidate the link between the empirical and the ontological, and his residual reliance on a Heideggerian project of fundamental ontology, which undermines his own immanentist principles.     Razprava obravnava sodobne koncepte sveta izhajajoč iz interpretacij Leibnizeve problematike možnih svetov pri Gillesu Deleuzu, Giorgiu Agambenu in Alainu Badiouju. S pomočjo dela Jacquesa Rancièra nato razišče konstitutivno vlogo pripovedi in kategorije možnega pri vzpostavitvi sveta. Omenjeni filozofi dejanskemu in možnim svetovom zoperstavljajo še posebno vrsto nemožnega svet, članek pa predlaga četrti tip sveta, fikcijski svet, katerega koncept je izpeljan iz branja Iskanja izgubljenega časa Marcela Prousta. Koncept fikcijskega sveta je formuliran kot predlog dopolnila Badioujeve teorije svetne pojavnosti resnice.

    Looking at the emergence recently of a New Hegelianism (Badiou, Bhaskar, Jameson, Žižek), in which Hegel’s dialectic is variously reassessed for its political and philosophical resistance to the prevailing ‘weak nihilisms’ of left and right, I argue with Žižek and Jameson against Badiou and Bhaskar for Hegel as, essentially, a philosopher of the ‘productive return’ and failure.
