  1. Remarks on generic stability in independent theories.Gabriel Conant & Kyle Gannon - 2020 - Annals of Pure and Applied Logic 171 (2):102736.
In NIP theories, generically stable Keisler measures can be characterized in several ways. We analyze these various forms of “generic stability” in arbitrary theories. Among other things, we show that the standard definition of generic stability for types coincides with the notion of a frequency interpretation measure. We also give combinatorial examples of types in NSOP theories that are finitely approximated but not generically stable, as well as ϕ-types in simple theories that are definable and finitely satisfiable in a small (...)

  • On model-theoretic tree properties.Artem Chernikov & Nicholas Ramsey - 2016 - Journal of Mathematical Logic 16 (2):1650009.
We study model theoretic tree properties and their associated cardinal invariants. In particular, we obtain a quantitative refinement of Shelah’s theorem for countable theories, show that [Formula: see text] is always witnessed by a formula in a single variable and that weak [Formula: see text] is equivalent to [Formula: see text]. Besides, we give a characterization of [Formula: see text] via a version of independent amalgamation of types and apply this criterion to verify that some examples in the literature are (...)

  • Generic variations and NTP$$_1$$1.Jan Dobrowolski - 2018 - Archive for Mathematical Logic 57 (7-8):861-871.
We prove a preservation theorem for NTP\ in the context of the generic variations construction. We also prove that NTP\ is preserved under adding to a geometric theory a generic predicate.

  • Thorn Forking, Weak Normality, and Theories with Selectors.Daniel Max Hoffmann & Anand Pillay - 2023 - Journal of Symbolic Logic 88 (4):1354-1366.
We discuss the role of weakly normal formulas in the theory of thorn forking, as part of a commentary on the paper [5]. We also give a counterexample to Corollary 4.2 from that paper, and in the process discuss “theories with selectors.”.

  • Homogeneous structures with nonuniversal automorphism groups.Wiesław Kubiś & Saharon Shelah - 2020 - Journal of Symbolic Logic 85 (2):817-827.
We present three examples of countable homogeneous structures whose automorphism groups are not universal, namely, fail to contain isomorphic copies of all automorphism groups of their substructures. Our first example is a particular case of a rather general construction on Fraïssé classes, which we call diversification, leading to automorphism groups containing copies of all finite groups. Our second example is a special case of another general construction on Fraïssé classes, the mixed sums, leading to a Fraïssé class with all finite symmetric (...)
