    This study integrates corpus-assisted text analysis with frame semantics to study a social problem. Taking a cognitive-linguistic approach to critical discourse studies, in this article I examine the linguistic construction of minors in a corpus of 489 articles from the Uruguayan newspaper El País in the context of the so-called ‘Criminal Imputability Referendum’.   • Crossing symbolic distances in political discourse space: Evaluative rhetoric within the framework of proximization.Piotr Cap - 2015 - Critical Discourse Studies 12 (3):313-329.
    This paper shows how an apparently abstract, ideologically loaded, evaluative rhetoric can be applied, legitimization-wise, to compensate for diminishing effects of fear appeal rhetoric based on material premises. The paper draws on proximization theory, which accounts for the construal of relations between entities within the Discourse Space, esp. the shifts whereby the peripheral elements of the DS get construed as the central ones.
