  1. Peirce’s ‘Prescision’ as a Transcendental Method.Gabriele Gava - 2011 - International Journal of Philosophical Studies 19 (2):231-253.
In this Paper I interpret Charles S. Peirce’s method of prescision as a transcendental method. In order to do so, I argue that Peirce’s pragmatism can be interpreted in a transcendental light only if we use a non‐justificatory understanding of transcendental philosophy. I show how Peirce’s prescision is similar to some abstracting procedure that Immanuel Kant used in his Critique of Pure Reason. Prescision abstracts from experience and thought in general those elements without which such experience and thought would be (...)

  • Peirce's contributions to Constructivism and Personal Construct Psychology: II. Science, Logic and Construction.Procter Harry - 2016 - Personal Construct Theory and Practice 13:210-265.
Kelly suggested that it was useful to consider anyone as functioning as a scientist, in the business of applying theories, making hypotheses and predictions and testing them out in the practice of everyday life. One of Charles Peirce’s major contributions was to develop the disciplines of logic and the philosophy of science. We can deepen and enrich our understanding of Kelly’s vision by looking at what Peirce has to say about the process of science. For Peirce, the essence of science (...)

• Gestures Historical and Incomplete, Critical yet Friendly.Vincent Colapietro - 2016 - European Journal of Pragmatism and American Philosophy 8 (1).
“Thought requires achievement for its own development, and without this development it is nothing. Thought must live and grow in incessant new and higher translations, or it proves itself not to be genuine thought.” – C. S. Peirce (CP 5.595) Introduction: Captivating Pictures and Liberating Gestures At the center of one of the most famous anecdotes involving a famous philosopher, we encounter what is commonly called in English a gesture, in fact, a Neapolitan gesture, though one made by a Tur...
