  1. What Do We Want? To Eliminate Gender! When Do We Want It? Later!Daniel Weltman - forthcoming - Pacific Philosophical Quarterly.
Gender eliminativism, also known as gender abolitionism, is the view that we should get rid of gender. I defend gender eliminativism by suggesting that many arguments that ostensibly call for rejecting it are in fact just arguments for delaying it. Although it may be true that presently gender eliminativism should not occur because of the role gender plays in people's identities, because of the need for gender to remedy oppression, because elimination is not pragmatic, because elimination is utopian, and because (...)

Este artículo se centra en el análisis de las características sociales, políticas y emocionales de las políticas y culturas alternativas de la menstruación, así como en los cambios que están sucediendo a ese nivel. La hipótesis de partida es que analizar todos estos cambios (...)

In principle, it is about starting from a materialistic philosophical perspective that provides us with a broad and rigorous framework for inquiry, which includes a consideration of the complex social topic in which our practices are inscribed and a special attention to the dynamics of affects that guide us in them. Based on this perspective, we propose the (...)

  • Against Abolition.Matthew J. Cull - 2019 - Feminist Philosophy Quarterly 5 (3).
Analytic metaphysics of gender has taken an ameliorative turn towards ethical and political questions regarding what our concept of gender ought to be, and how gendered society should be structured. Abolitionism about gender, which claims that we ought to mandate gender out of existence, has therefore seen renewed interest. I consider three arguments for abolitionism from radically different perspectives: Haslanger’s simple argument, Escalante’s Gender Nihilism, and Okin’s argument from ideal theory. I argue that none of the above manage to establish (...)
