  1. Relational Space-Time and de Broglie Waves.Tony Lyons - 2023 - Foundations of Physics 53 (4):1-26.
Relative motion of particles is examined in the context of relational space-time. It is shown that de Broglie waves may be derived as a representation of the coordinate maps between the rest-frames of these particles. Energy and momentum are not absolute characteristics of these particles, they are understood as parameters of the coordinate maps between their rest-frames. It is also demonstrated the position of a particle is not an absolute, it is contingent on the frame of reference used to observe (...)

  • From Bohm’s Vision of Quantum Processes to Quantum Field Theory... to the Transactional Approach. Variations on the Theme. [REVIEW]Davide Fiscaletti - 2022 - Foundations of Physics 52 (3):1-25.
The vision of quantum physics developed by David Bohm, and especially the idea of the implicit order, can be considered the true epistemological foundation of quantum field theory and the idea of a quantum vacuum that underlies the observable forms of matter, energy and space-time. Assuming the non-locality as the crucial visiting card of quantum processes, it is thus possible to arrive directly to the transactional interpretation and to the idea of a non-local quantum vacuum in which the behaviour of (...)

  • The Possibilist Transactional Interpretation and Relativity.Ruth E. Kastner - 2012 - Foundations of Physics 42 (8):1094-1113.
A recent ontological variant of Cramer’s Transactional Interpretation, called “Possibilist Transactional Interpretation” or PTI, is extended to the relativistic domain. The present interpretation clarifies the concept of ‘absorption,’ which plays a crucial role in TI (and in PTI). In particular, in the relativistic domain, coupling amplitudes between fields are interpreted as amplitudes for the generation of confirmation waves (CW) by a potential absorber in response to offer waves (OW), whereas in the nonrelativistic context CW are taken as generated with certainty. (...)

  • Isolated Objects and Their Evolution: A Derivation of the Propagator’s Path Integral for Spinless Elementary Particles.Domenico Napoletani & Daniele C. Struppa - 2022 - Foundations of Physics 52 (1):1-38.
We formalize the notion of isolated objects, and we build a consistent theory to describe their evolution and interaction. We further introduce a notion of indistinguishability of distinct spacetime paths of a unit, for which the evolution of the state variables of the unit is the same, and a generalization of the equivalence principle based on indistinguishability. Under a time reversal condition on the whole set of indistinguishable paths of a unit, we show that the quantization of motion of spinless (...)
