  1. Should teachers use Platonic or Aristotelian dialogues for the moral education of young people?Wouter Sanderse - 2023 - Journal of Philosophy of Education 57 (3):748-761.
Is a neo-Platonic theory of moral education better than a neo-Aristotelian one, because the former offers a dialogue method that teachers can use in universities to induce epiphanies in students, in order to jump-start the moral development of those with a rather vicious character? • The notion of character friendship and the cultivation of virtue.Diana Hoyos-Valdés - 2018 - Journal for the Theory of Social Behaviour 48 (1):66-82.

The article discusses relationships and contexts for "reason", "knowledge", and virtue in Aristotle, based on and elaborating some results from Eikeland. It positions Eikeland in relation to Moss but with a side view to Cammick, Kristjansson, and Taylor. These all seem to disagree among themselves but still agree partly in different ways with Eikeland. The text focuses on two questions: 1) the role or tasks of "reason", "knowledge", and "virtue" respectively in setting the end or goal for ethical deliberation, and (...)

In J.M. Coetzee’s novel The Schooldays of Jesus (2016), the question of finding the ‘right education’ for a young child is a central and recurring theme. In particular, the novel presents us with t...
