  1. Some results on consecutive large cardinals.Arthur W. Apter - 1983 - Annals of Pure and Applied Logic 25 (1):1-17.
We obtain 2 models in which AC is false and in which there are long sequences of consecutive large cardinals.

  • Partition relations for κ-normal ideals on Pκ(λ).Pierre Matet - 2003 - Annals of Pure and Applied Logic 121 (1):89-111.
Using previous work of Baumgartner, Shelah and others, we describe, for each infinite cardinal θκ, the smallest κ-normal ideal J on Pκ such that.

  • Instances of dependent choice and the measurability of ℵω + 1.Arthur W. Apter & Menachem Magidor - 1995 - Annals of Pure and Applied Logic 74 (3):203-219.
Starting from cardinals κ κ is measurable, we construct a model for the theory “ZF + n < ω[DCn] + ω + 1 is a measurable cardinal”. This is the maximum amount of dependent choice consistent with the measurability of ω + 1, and by a theorem of Shelah using p.c.f. theory, is the best result of this sort possible.

  • Prime ideals on P ω (λ) with the partition property.Pierre Matet, Cédric Péan & Stevo Todorcevic - 2002 - Archive for Mathematical Logic 41 (8):743-764.
We use ideas of Fred Galvin to show that under Martin's axiom, there is a prime ideal on Pω (λ) with the partition property for every \documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}\end{document}.

  • Subtlety and partition relations.Toshimichi Usuba - 2016 - Mathematical Logic Quarterly 62 (1-2):59-71.
We study the subtlety of a cardinal κ and of. We show that, under a certain large cardinal assumption, it is consistent that is subtle for some but κ is not subtle, and the consistency of such a situation is much stronger than the existence of a subtle cardinal. We show that the subtlety of can be characterized by a certain partition relation on. We also study the property of faintness of κ, and the subtlety of with the strong inclusion.

  • Consecutive Singular Cardinals and the Continuum Function.Arthur W. Apter & Brent Cody - 2013 - Notre Dame Journal of Formal Logic 54 (2):125-136.
We show that from a supercompact cardinal $\kappa$, there is a forcing extension $V[G]$ that has a symmetric inner model $N$ in which $\mathrm {ZF}+\lnot\mathrm {AC}$ holds, $\kappa$ and $\kappa^{+}$ are both singular, and the continuum function at $\kappa$ can be precisely controlled, in the sense that the final model contains a sequence of distinct subsets of $\kappa$ of length equal to any predetermined ordinal. We also show that the above situation can be collapsed to obtain a model of $\mathrm (...)

    We investigate the partition property of \documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$${\mathcal{P}_{\kappa}\lambda}$$\end{document}. Main results of this paper are as follows: (1) If λ is the least cardinal greater than κ such that \documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$${\mathcal{P}_{\kappa}\lambda}$$\end{document} carries a (λκ, 2)-distributive normal ideal without the partition property, then λ is \documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$${\Pi^1_n}$$\end{document}-indescribable for all n < ω but not \documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} (...)
