  • Decolonizing religion and the practice of peace: Two case studies from the postcolonial world.Atalia Omer - 2020 - Critical Research on Religion 8 (3):273-296.
Based on extensive field work focused on interreligious peacebuilding practices in Kenya and the Philippines, this article argues that decolonial accounts of peacebuilding, in line with decolonial interventions in the study of religion, remain captive to the task of epistemological undoing and thus insufficiently relevant to the precarious lives of many invisibalized people in the global South. The question is whether decolonial thinking in the study of religion and theology should concern itself with such pertinence. I first examine the colonial (...)

  • “Give Me Sight Beyond Sight”: Thinking With Science Fiction as Thinking (Together) With (Others).Alexander I. Stingl - 2016 - Bulletin of Science, Technology and Society 36 (1):3-27.
This is the second of two special issues, and the articles are grouped according to two themes: The previous, first issue featured articles that shared the theme Technologies and the Political, while this second issue is focused on the theme of Subjectivities. In this second, somewhat expanded, introduction, the “sky’s the limit.” This introduction canvasses various theoretical and conceptual-empricial perspectives that the articles of both issues touch on and further tries to open many doors through which readers are invited to (...)

  • Differential Body Politic beyond Pacified Techno-Futures.Adla Isanović - 2023 - Filozofski Vestnik 44 (2):71-94.
By critically analyzing the status and differentiation of bodies and their lives, the author expands the vision of governmentality beyond the West in order to define the body beyond the pacified techno-promises of their emancipation through fragmentation, calculability and programmability. By elaborating the nature, power, and promises of dominant digital technologies and technobodies, the author conceptualizes them in relation to the shift between bio- and necropolitics/power and in relation to violence, (digital) coloniality, and racialization to which bodies are exposed. It (...)
