  1. Teorii si ideologii politice.Eugen Huzum (ed.) - 2013 - Iasi: Institutul European.

  • Envy, self-esteem, and distributive justice.Vegard Stensen - forthcoming - European Journal of Political Theory.
Most agree that envy, or at least the malicious kind, should not have any role in the moral justification of distributive arrangements. This paper defends a contrary position. It argues that at...

  • What's Wrong with Private Schools.Roger Marples - 2018 - Journal of Philosophy of Education 52 (1):19-35.
The aim of this article is to demonstrate the respects in which private schools are unfair, and why they pose a threat to the well-being of not only those who are excluded on financial grounds, but to democratic equality and social cohesion in general. The shortcomings associated with relying on a form of educational provision that is merely ‘adequate’ are rendered explicit, and the article concludes with a consideration of a variety of measures that might go some way towards nullifying (...)

  • Emotion as patheception.Raja Bahlul - 2015 - Philosophical Explorations 18 (1):104-122.
Emotions cannot be fully understood in purely cognitive terms. Nor can they be fully understood as mere feelings with no content. But it has not been easy to give an account of the relation of affect and cognition in a way that preserves the perceived unity of emotional experience. Consequently, emotion theories tend to lean either toward cognitivism, or, alternatively, the view that emotions are basically non-cognitive affairs. The aim of this paper is to argue for an account of emotion (...)

  • Envy, facts and justice: A critique of the treatment of envy in justice as fairness.Patrick Tomlin - 2008 - Res Publica 14 (2):101-116.
A common anti-egalitarian argument is that equality is motivated by envy, or the desire to placate envy. In order to avoid this charge, John Rawls explicitly banishes envy from his original position. This article argues that this is an inconsistent and untenable position for Rawls, as he treats envy as if it were a fact of human psychology and believes that principles of justice should be based on such facts. Therefore envy should be known about in the original position. The (...)
