  1. Public education policies, nature, and contemporary ecological uncertainties in the school of John Stuart Mill.Camille Roelens - 2024 - Revue Phronesis 13 (3):65-86.
This article brings together epistemological and political philosophy approaches and investment of the dialectic of knowledge, values, and skills, by situating the whole in an uncertain world. We propose to look at the place that environmental issues have in the most recent French public education policies and in particular in the teaching programs that have been developed for the compulsory education period. We present the main themes and potential implications of Mill's philosophical work. We discuss what could be a new (...)

  • « Devoir-implique-pouvoir » et le problème des négations de normes.Judith Notter - 2021 - Philosophiques 48 (1):137-152.

  • Epistemic Reasons Are Not Normative Reasons for Belief.Samuel Montplaisir - 2021 - Acta Analytica 36 (4):573-587.
In this paper, I argue against the view that epistemic reasons are normative reasons for belief. I begin by responding to some of the most widespread arguments in favor of the normativity of epistemic reasons before advancing two arguments against this thesis. The first is supported by an analysis of what it means to “have” some evidence for p. The second is supported by the claim that beliefs, if they are to be considered as states, cannot have epistemic reasons as (...)

  • Belief and normativity.Pascal Engel - 2007 - Disputatio 2 (23):179-203.
The thesis that mental content is normative is ambiguous and has many forms. This article deals only with the thesis that normativity is connected to our mental attitudes rather than with the content of the attitudes, and more specifically with the view that it is connected to belief. A number of writers have proposed various versions of a ‘norm of truth’ attached to belief. I examine various versions of this claim, and defend it against recent criticisms according to which this (...)
