  1. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child: Implementation in the 21st Century.C. J. Pawson & R. E. S. Tanner - 2005 - Global Bioethics 18 (1):1-15.
The ratification of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) demands that those participating nations, adopt the aims of the convention as state responsibilities toward their child citizens. • Cross‐National Comparisons of Complex Problem‐Solving Strategies in Two Microworlds.C. Dominik Güss, Ma Teresa Tuason & Christiane Gerhard - 2010 - Cognitive Science 34 (3):489-520.
Research in the fields of complex problem solving (CPS) and dynamic decision making using microworlds has been mainly conducted in Western industrialized countries. This study analyzes the CPS process by investigating thinking‐aloud protocols in five countries. Participants were 511 students from Brazil, Germany, India, the Philippines, and the United States who worked on two microworlds. On the basis of cultural‐psychological theories, specific cross‐national differences in CPS strategies were hypothesized. Following theories of situatedness of cognition, hypotheses about the specific frequency of (...)

  • Fostering shared knowledge with active graphical representation in different collaboration scenarios.Frank Fischer & Heinz Mandl - unknown
This study investigated how two types of graphical representation tools influence the way in which learners use shared and unshared knowledge resources in two different collaboration scenarios, and how learners represent and transfer shared knowledge under these different conditions. Moreover, the relation between the use of knowledge resources, representation, and the transfer of shared knowledge was analyzed. The type of graphical representation and the collaboration scenario were varied. 64 university students participated. Results show that the learning partners converged in their (...)
