    Currently, the repetition of a critical way of speaking results in a stagnating tendency in educational debates. This had led to the endeavour of developing a ‘post-critical pedagogy’.   • What is Pragmatism in Brazil Today?Paulo Ghiraldelli & Cody Carr - 2005 - Studies in Philosophy and Education 24 (6):499-514.
    This paper analyses the relations between Pragmatism and Brazilian culture, nowadays defined as a plural culture. It shows that the introduction of Pragmatism into Brazilian educational movements in the past actually made such culture much more receptive to pragmatist ideas. After discussing the concepts of truth and minimalism on Richard Rorty’s Philosophical Papers, the authors conclude that Brazilian education today is receptive to the conception in which new narratives can be used as a powerful instrument to change the world.

    Examining key themes presented in the excellent Rorty Reader, this essay also argues that Rorty's philosophical import extends beyond the propositional content of his texts. After indicating how Rorty's central philosophical stance of anti-representationalism is expressed in his aestheticist advocacy of a pluralist literary culture and his theory that ethics and moral progress can be properly based only on sentiments rather than rationality, the paper explains why his philosophy should have therefore embraced the role of embodied experience rather than rejecting (...)
