    This essay gives an overview of the various roles that dreams have played in the world's religious traditions, and describes the major findings of 20th century dream psychology. It then offers different models for integrating traditional religious and modern psychological views of dreams. Three specific areas of integration are discussed: 1) The felt experience of numinosity; 2) Archetypal structures; 3) Existential questions.
