    Many praise science for its systematic drive to objectivity. But scientific objectivity is in fact valuable mainly as a species of objectivity in a broader sense, which extends to aesthetic experience and artistic forms of creativity. Objectivity should be understood as outwardness, or receptivity to basic features of the world.
