Capitalism Paradigms And The Digital Revolution (New Economic Issues)

Abstract

The capitalist system has undergone several transformations (mutations in the language of Karl Marx) during the last centuries. This article examines the main characteristics of the three great revolutions of capitalism: industrial, financial and digital. Each revolution is analyzed with the main paradigms that seek to explain these different mutations of capitalism. In the last part of the article the emphasis is placed on the consequences of the Digital Revolution and the GEN-AI on the economic theories taught for decades by economists.
