Abstract

As climate change increasingly transforms ecosystems, protected areas—traditionally regarded as strongholds for biodiversity—are facing mounting challenges. A recent study by Barr et al. (2025) highlights a troubling gap. Most Canadian protected area management plans are not adequately equipped to address the escalating impacts of a changing climate.
