Abstract
The Christian life and attitude can take different forms. The monastic life is
one of them and it helps us to see the world through different lens. The
spiritual ascension, the ascetical or the martyric one, is an assumed life for
and in Christ, the Son of God. Since the beginning, the Christian logic was
against the human logic. But this was like an attraction for many pagans. To
exemplify this new attitude towards life, we present the most important
models of monks from the first centuries of Christianity. First, we speak
about the life of Saint Anthony the Great, then about Saint Pachomius the
Great and we end up with Evagrius from Pont. Indeed, they are truly
confessors of the monastic philosophy and we demonstrate in this article
this reality.
