Abstract
Art is my faith. Nietzsche emphasizes the fusion of the
Dionysian and the Apollonian from the Greek Tragedy, the balance
between our unpredictable chaotic nature, and our desire for
controlled, organized harmony in our lives. In the current postmodern society, young generation lost Apollonian values, which are
traditional and cultural values that maintained the social order. The
wave of cynicism, and its derivative, hedonism centered desires of
individuals for more intense stimuli. Art rebalances this asymmetry in
our emotional nature. Art is a creation, and an emotional dominance.
The combination of structural harmony for creation, and the aesthetic
uniqueness that provokes emotions, art, is the definition of the Greek
Tragedy and the Doctrine of Mean. When life loses its focus on
survival, it chases thrill, the instinctive purpose of life. Art thrills me.
The continuous act of self-expression keeps me who I am, and my
choice of art are sound and music.
