Abstract
A new book by Timothy Morton, Being Ecological, is reviewed. Being Ecological is a
project into the ethics and discourse that emerge between speculative realism and
ecological politics. This book is intended to build on the object-oriented ontology that
Morton has espoused in previous volumes, however with a greater emphasis on the
current state and future of ecological discussions. The book's core methodology is to
outline the failures of the current modes of discussion environmental and ecological
concerns and provide ways of entering into a more authentic philosophical
discussion. The book differs from Morton's usual verbose and highly poetic form in
favor of a more grounded and accessible entry into his large project.
