  1. Definable homomorphisms of abelian groups in o-minimal structures.Ya'acov Peterzil & Sergei Starchenko - 1999 - Annals of Pure and Applied Logic 101 (1):1-27.
We investigate the group of definable homomorphisms between two definable abelian groups A and B, in an o-minimal structure . We prove the existence of a “large”, definable subgroup of . If contains an infinite definable set of homomorphisms then some definable subgroup of B admits a definable multiplication, making it into a field. As we show, all of this can be carried out not only in the underlying structure but also in any structure definable in.

  • Superrosy dependent groups having finitely satisfiable generics.Clifton Ealy, Krzysztof Krupiński & Anand Pillay - 2008 - Annals of Pure and Applied Logic 151 (1):1-21.
We develop a basic theory of rosy groups and we study groups of small Uþ-rank satisfying NIP and having finitely satisfiable generics: Uþ-rank 1 implies that the group is abelian-by-finite, Uþ-rank 2 implies that the group is solvable-by-finite, Uþ-rank 2, and not being nilpotent-by-finite implies the existence of an interpretable algebraically closed field.

  • On stable torsion-free nilpotent groups.Claus Grünenwald & Frieder Haug - 1993 - Archive for Mathematical Logic 32 (6):451-462.
We show that an infinite field is interpretable in a stable torsion-free nilpotent groupG of classk, k>1. Furthermore we prove thatG/Z k-1 (G) must be divisible. By generalising methods of Belegradek we classify some stable torsion-free nilpotent groups modulo isomorphism and elementary equivalence.
