Medieval commentaries on Aristotelian treatises illustrate how these texts were read, understood and interpreted by contemporary philosophers. About this, researchers generally agree. Anyone who wants to investigate the reception of Aristotelian thought in the Middle Ages, then, must consider not only the medieval translations of the Stagirite’s works but also the commentaries on his works.
