In this essay I provide a critical analysis of the Enlightenment program—focusing particularly on the thought of Hegel, Rouseau, Kant, and Nietszche—describing the central dangers inherent in the program. I conclude with reflections generated from the post-metaphysical responses to the Enlightenment made by Giddens and Heidegger.

Despite of the changes in the kantian project is possible to identify the problem of the madness as being boarded in two perspectives: 1. physiologic, 2. semantic. The physiologic approach corresponds to the model of the sciences about objects of the external senses. The semantic approach of the madness develops inside of the critical task of the philosophy, that is, as part of an investigation concerning the reach and the limits of the human reason. In this sense, the madness is (...) in two different series. In the first case it appears entailed to the cerebral lesions, problems of perception or with the consumption of substances that change the physical operation. In the second case it relates with enthusiasm prophetic, the religious fanaticism, mysticism and even with the metaphysic. To develop our work here will present elements of the physiologic approach and of the semantic approach found in some of the different texts and, finally, will accomplish some considerations on the development possibility of one know about the madness in Kant.Apesar das mudanças do projeto kantiano, é possível identificar o problema da loucura como sendo abordado em duas perspectivas: uma fisiológica, outra semântica. A abordagem fisiológica corresponde ao modelo das ciências dos objetos dos sentidos externos. Já a abordagem semântica da loucura se desenvolve dentro da tarefa crítica da filosofia, isto é, como parte de uma investigação acerca do alcance e dos limites da razão humana. Nesse sentido, a loucura se insere em duas séries diferentes. No primeiro caso aparece vinculada às lesões cerebrais, problemas de percepção ou até mesmo em relação ao consumo de substâncias que alteram o funcionamento físico. No segundo caso se relaciona com o entusiasmo do desvario profético, o fanatismo religioso, o misticismo e até mesmo a ilusão metafísica. Para desenvolver o nosso trabalho apresentaremos elementos da abordagem fisiológica e da abordagem semântica encontradas em alguns dos diferentes textos e, por último, realizaremos algumas considerações sobre a possibilidade do desenvolvimento de um saber sobre a loucura em Kant. The purpose of this paper is to discuss (...) how the strictly logical principle of finality relates to general sentiment, either as admiration of nature or throughout the range of all of its variations, as subsequently shown in this very paragraph 62: Enthusiasm, joy, and stupefaction. Admittedly, such sentiments cannot intervene in the strictly logical mechanism of said principle, which is transcendental for Kant, still this paper will try to show how its usage relates to a sentiment at all times somehow. This requires showing that Kant's declaration that the teleological judgment holds no relation with the pleasure and displeasure sentiment does not necessarily imply that this type of judgment does not relate to any type of sentiment at all.O parágrafo 62 da Crítica do Juízo, cuja função é definir o conceito de conformidade a fins objetiva, começa com uma declaração do filósofo segundo a qual todas as figuras geométricas se relacionam com uma conformidade a fins objetiva e admirável. Embora não seja aqui essencial para a definição do princípio dessa conformidade a fins, a afirmação de Kant de que ela é muitas vezes digna de admiração exerce um importante papel para a sua própria definição. O objetivo deste texto é tecer algumas considerações em torno dessa relação entre o princípio estritamente lógico da conformidade a fins e o sentimento em geral, seja de admiração da natureza, ou em todas as suas variações, tais como aparece na sequência do mesmo parágrafo 62: o entusiasmo, a alegria e a estupefação. Embora de antemão se reconheça que tais sentimentos não podem intervir no mecanismo estritamente lógico desse princípio, que, segundo Kant, é transcendental, pretende-se mostrar como o seu uso relaciona-se sempre e de algum modo com um sentimento. Para isso, é preciso mostrar que a afirmação de Kant segundo a qual o juízo teleológico não possui nenhuma relação com o sentimento de prazer e desprazer não implica necessariamente que esse tipo de juízo não possua relação nenhuma como nenhum tipo de sentimento. Although Kant had to write his Critique of Judgement with an eye to the Prussian censorship, he nevertheless valued in his aesthetic theory the achievements of the French Revolution. Therefore, the purpose of the article is to analyze the underlying political philosophy of Immanuel Kant's third Critique in the context of the aesthetic theories of his time. The paper presents a brief account of his aesthetic theory (especially of his concepts of "harmony" and "free interplay" between the cognitive faculties) and (...) gives special attention to the question why, in Kant's opinion, political speeches were legitimate objects of aesthetic judgments.
