  1. The Language of Publication of "Analytic" Philosophy.Gonzalo Rodriguez-Pereyra - 2013 - Critica 45 (133):83-90.
This note argues that research in analytical philosophy broadly conceived should be published exclusively in English. Reasons are given for this and the thesis is defended against thirteen objections.

  • Bioethics and Its Gatekeepers: Does Institutional Racism Exist in Leading Bioethics Journals? [REVIEW]Subrata Chattopadhyay, Catherine Myser & Raymond De Vries - 2013 - Journal of Bioethical Inquiry 10 (1):7-9.
Who are the gatekeepers in bioethics? Does editorial bias or institutional racism exist in leading bioethics journals? We analyzed the composition of the editorial boards of 14 leading bioethics journals by country. Categorizing these countries according to their Human Development Index (HDI), we discovered that approximately 95 percent of editorial board members are based in (very) high-HDI countries, less than 4 percent are from medium-HDI countries, and fewer than 1.5 percent are from low-HDI countries. Se sostiene que la propuesta de Rodriguez-Pereyra de que los analíticos iberoamericanos publiquemos todos nuestras investigaciones en inglés es inviable e indeseable.

  • The Will to Communicate.Diana I. Pérez - 2013 - Critica 45 (133):91-97.
In this paper I discuss Rodriguez-Pereyras claim according to which analytical philosophy should be published exclusively in English. I focus my reply on three issues: (1) the implicit conception of philosophy and of the philosophical practice that underlies his argument, (2) the myth of the native speaker and (3) some values that should guide philosophy and which I propose to highlight.
