  1. Quantum Theory of International Relations: Approaches and Possible Gains.Jakub Tesař - 2015 - Human Affairs 25 (4):486-502.
This paper considers the possible application of quantum theory in political studies, especially in international relations. We introduce our classification based on three logical ways of how to connect areas so remote: through the relation of identity, analogy and metaphor which reflects three basic epistemic positions. Next, we review existing work against this classification before moving on to consider some of the uses and potential gains offered by quantum mind hypothesis, quantum models of reasoning and decisionmaking, and quantum metaphor.

  • Natural Code of Subjective Experience.Ilya A. Surov - 2022 - Biosemiotics 15 (1):109-139.
The paper introduces mathematical encoding for subjective experience and meaning in natural cognition. The code is based on a quantum-theoretic qubit structure supplementing classical bit with circular dimension, functioning as a process-causal template for representation of contexts relative to the basis decision. The qubit state space is demarcated in categories of emotional experience of animals and humans. Features of the resulting spherical map align with major theoreties in cognitive and emotion science, modeling of natural language, and semiotics, suggesting several generalizations (...)

  • Determinism is ontic, determinability is epistemic.Harald Atmanspacher - 2001 - In Harald Atmanspacher & Robert C. Bishop (eds.), Between Chance and Choice: Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Determinism. Thorverton Uk: Imprint Academic. pp. 49--74.
Philosophical discourse traditionally distinguishes between ontology and epistemology and generally enforces this distinction by keeping the two subject areas separated. However, the relationship between the two areas is of central importance to physics and philosophy of physics. For instance, many measurement-related problems force us to consider both our knowledge of the states and observables of a system and its states and observables independent of such knowledge. This applies to quantum systems in particular. This contribution presents an example showing the importance (...)

  • Energy Transformation and Semiosis.Taborsky Edwina - 2003 - The Commens Encyclopedia: The Digital Encyclopedia of Peirce Studies.
This paper examines the processes of codification or measurement of energy by means of which energy is able to operate as mass. The architecture of this transformation rests on a series of increasing asymmetrical ontological and epistemological cuts in measurement which are then mediated by increasingly complex semiotic codal actions. The ontological cut establishes an external and internal zone of measurement and the epistemological cut establishes a mental/formal and material/informal zone of measurement. The external zone is mediated by a semiotics (...)
