  1. The nonstationary ideal on P_kappa for lambda singular.Pierre Matet & Saharon Shelah - 2017 - Archive for Mathematical Logic 56 (7-8):911-934.
We give a new characterization of the nonstationary ideal on \\) in the case when \ is a regular uncountable cardinal and \ a singular strong limit cardinal of cofinality at least \.

  • On a convenient property about $${[\gamma]^{\aleph_0}}$$.David Asperó - 2009 - Archive for Mathematical Logic 48 (7):653-677.
Several situations are presented in which there is an ordinal γ such that ${\{ X \in [\gamma]^{\aleph_0} : X \cap \omega_1 \in S\,{\rm and}\, ot(X) \in T \}}$ is a stationary subset of ${[\gamma]^{\aleph_0}}$ for all stationary ${S, T\subseteq \omega_1}$ . A natural strengthening of the existence of an ordinal γ for which the above conclusion holds lies, in terms of consistency strength, between the existence of the sharp of ${H_{\omega_2}}$ and the existence of sharps for all reals. Also, an (...)

  • Nowhere precipitousness of the non-stationary ideal over.Yo Matsubara & Saharon Shelah - 2002 - Journal of Mathematical Logic 2 (01):81-89.
We prove that if λ is a strong limit singular cardinal and κ a regular uncountable cardinal < λ, then NSκλ, the non-stationary ideal over [Formula: see text], is nowhere precipitous. We also show that under the same hypothesis every stationary subset of [Formula: see text] can be partitioned into λκ disjoint stationary sets.

  • Generalized Prikry forcing and iteration of generic ultrapowers.Hiroshi Sakai - 2005 - Mathematical Logic Quarterly 51 (5):507-523.
It is known that there is a close relation between Prikry forcing and the iteration of ultrapowers: If U is a normal ultrafilter on a measurable cardinal κ and 〈Mn, jm,n | m ≤ n ≤ ω〉 is the iteration of ultrapowers of V by U, then the sequence of critical points 〈j0,n | n ∈ ω〉 is a Prikry generic sequence over Mω. In this paper we generalize this for normal precipitous filters.

Let σ(U) denote the number of automorphisms of a model U of power ω1. We derive a necessary and sufficient condition in terms of trees for the existence of an U with $\omega_1 < \sigma(\mathfrak{U}) < 2^{\omega_1}$. We study the sufficiency of some conditions for σ(U) = 2ω1 . These conditions are analogous to conditions studied by D. Kueker in connection with countable models.

We investigate the pressing down game and its relation to the Banach Mazur game. In particular we show: consistently, there is a nowhere precipitous normal ideal I on \documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$${\aleph_2}$$\end{document} such that player nonempty wins the pressing down game of length \documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$${\aleph_1}$$\end{document} on I even if player empty starts.

It is well known that if the nonempty player of the Banach–Mazur game has a winning strategy on a space, then that space is Baire in all powers even in the box product topology. The converse of this implication may also be true: We know of no consistency result to the contrary. In this paper we establish the consistency of the converse relative to the consistency of the existence of a proper class of measurable cardinals.
