  1. Leo Straussas: Istorizmas, Politinė Filosofija ir Politikos Mokslas.Mindaugas Stoškus - 2013 - Problemos 83:96-106.
Straipsnyje analizuojamas Leo Strausso iškeltas istorizmo poveikis politinei filosofijai.

  • Jerusalem in Athens: On the Biblical Epigraphs to Leo Strauss's Natural Right and History.Paul O'Mahoney - 2012 - Heythrop Journal 53 (3):418-431.
The Old Testament epigraphs used by Leo Strauss for his study Natural Right and History tend invariably to vex his readers. In the book itself and in other of his writings, Strauss explicitly states that the Old Testament tradition does not know ‘nature’ in the philosophical sense, and hence the concept of ‘natural right’ is unknown or alien to that tradition. Another, more obvious problem they present has been seemingly universally passed over by commentators: neither epigraph tells the reader anything (...)

  • From nature to history, and back again: Blumenberg, Strauss and the Hobbesian community.Majid Yar - 2002 - History of the Human Sciences 15 (3):53-73.
This article explores the origins of the problematic of political community by considering it in relation to the founding principles of `modern thought'. These principles are identified with the extirpation of moral values and ends from nature, in keeping with the rise of a `disenchanted' and mechanical scientific world-view. The transition from an `ancient' to a `modern' world-view is elaborated by drawing upon the work of Hans Blumenberg and Leo Strauss. The `demoralization' of nature, it is claimed, projects the formation (...)

  • Three Perspectives on Happiness, from Ancient to Modern: Aristotle, Adam Smith, and Martin E.P. Seligman.Patrick D. Wong - 2020 - Dissertation, Salve Regina University
This dissertation employed Ernest L. Boyer's scholarship of integration by synthesizing Seligman, Aristotle, and Smith's literature to discuss what constitutes happiness, a good life, and how to apply Martin Seligman's framework to achieve these objectives. The dissertation will also discuss how happiness was defined during the Aristotle era and how happiness is measured in contemporary society and societal perspective toward individual economics and happiness. This integration is especially necessary for studying humanities, which I used to understand the past and its (...)
