  • Trance, posture, and tobacco in the Casas Grandes shamanic tradition: Altered states of consciousness and the interaction effects of behavioral variables.Christine S. VanPool, Laura Lee, Paul Robear & Todd L. VanPool - 2024 - Anthropology of Consciousness 35 (1):75-95.

Experimental and ethnographic evidence indicates initiating trance (...)

Mythology can be described both as Weltanschauung and symbolic universe, functioning on all levels of consciousness. Different Weltanschauungen constitute alternative states of consciousness. Compared to secular worldviews, religious worldviews may be described as ASCs. Thanks to our globalised modern societies, the issue is even (...)
