  • Theory of rejected propositions. I.Jerzy Słupecki, Grzegorz Bryll & Urszula Wybraniec-Skardowska - 1971 - Studia Logica 29 (1):75 - 123.
The idea of rejection of some sentences on the basis of others comes from Aristotle, as Jan Łukasiewicz states in his studies on Aristotle's syllogistic [1939, 1951], concerning rejection of the false syllogistic form and those on certain calculus of propositions. Short historical remarks on the origin and development of the notion of a rejected sentence, introduced into logic by Jan Łukasiewicz, are contained in the Introduction of this paper. This paper is to a considerable extent a summary of papers (...)

  • Problems of substitution and admissibility in the modal system Grz and in intuitionistic propositional calculus.V. V. Rybakov - 1990 - Annals of Pure and Applied Logic 50 (1):71-106.
Questions connected with the admissibility of rules of inference and the solvability of the substitution problem for modal and intuitionistic logic are considered in an algebraic framework. The main result is the decidability of the universal theory of the free modal algebra imageω extended in signature by adding constants for free generators. As corollaries we obtain: there exists an algorithm for the recognition of admissibility of rules with parameters in the modal system Grz, the substitution problem for Grz and for (...)

  • When is a Schema Not a Schema? On a Remark by Suszko.Lloyd Humberstone & Allen Hazen - 2020 - Studia Logica 108 (2):199-220.
A 1971 paper by Roman Suszko, ‘Identity Connective and Modality’, claimed that a certain identity-free schema expressed the condition that there are at most two objects in the domain. Section 1 here gives that schema and enough of the background to this claim to explain Suszko’s own interest in it and related conditions—via non-Fregean logic, in which the objects in question are situations and the aim is to refrain from imposing this condition. Section 3 shows that the claim is false, (...)
