У статті здійснюється історико-філософський розгляд контроверсійних підвалин комунікативних стратегій, де під контроверсіями розуміється принцип суперечності діалогу як такого, а під комунікативними стратегіями – діалог як «раціональна комунікація», тобто комунікація з наперед заданою метою. Показано зв’язок між морально-етичною настановою історичних періодів та принципом діалогу, притаманного цій добі. Виявлено, що принцип діалогу, запроваджений ще у добу Античності як спосіб знаходження порозуміння, знайшов своє продовження у диспутах середньовічних університетів та жанру діалогу доби Відродження. Водночас індивідуалізм доби Відродження, раціональна настанова Просвітництва та наукові дослідження (...) Нового часу усталили суб’єкт-об’єктний принцип взаємин; відновлення принципу діалогу як засобу порозуміння, пов’язується, зокрема, із працями представників комунікативної філософії. Акцентується увага на значущості критичного мислення та безперервної освіти як засобу подолання маніпулятивних впливів, зокрема у ситуації названою «добою постправди», що актуалізує дане дослідження. У добу радикальної цивілізаційної трансформації суспільства та досягнення ним нового рівня складності, загострюється проблема віднаходження ресурсів свободи та свободи вибору людини. Обмеженість природних ресурсів спонукає людину віднаходити внутрішні, рефлексивні, інтелектуально-духовні ресурси виживання та свободи самореалізації, що дає можливість у перспективі перейти, крім іншого, до екологічної рівноваги між природою та суспільством та запобігти кліматичному колапсу людства. Цивілізаційний розвиток розширює горизонт свободи людини і, водночас, ставить її перед проблемою ресурсного забезпечення для реалізації нових можливостей свободи, одним із важливих ресурсів якої є рефлексія. Здатність людини до рефлексії не є чимось, що притаманно виключно ефемерній суб’єктивності, а виявляється продовженням певних глибинних закономірностей буття, що виражаються, зокрема, у рекурсивній функції, а також у самореференції природних і соціальних процесів. Відрефлексовування людиною власного стану в аспекті свободи або несвободи є важливим чинником, що спонукає її як до самовдосконалення, так і до втілення якісно нових суспільних відносин, за яких її власна вільна самореалізація є і умовою і наслідком вільної самореалізації осіб, з якими вона взаємодіє. Напрацювання такого соціального капіталу та формування відповідних соціальних відносин є соціальною й організаційною передумовою прориву до інноваційних технологій та відновлювальної енергетики. Досягнути такого рівня вільного цивілізованого стану суспільство може лише пройшовши через «вузький коридор» (Д. Аджемоглу та Дж. Робінсон) цілеспрямованого створення відповідних соціальних інститутів і формування легітимної держави та відповідального громадянського суспільства, що відкриває можливість свободи самореалізації людини. У результаті триваючої наразі цивілізаційної трансформації має виникнути суспільство з високою синергією (А. Маслоу), важливим ресурсом якого повинно стати рефлексія другого порядку, цілеспрямоване самоуправління рефлексивними процесами, що забезпечують соціальну самоорганізацію на основі загальнолюдських цінностей. This article rejects the received view that Post-Truth is a new, unprecedented political phenomenon. By showing that Truth and Post-Truth share the same genesis, this article will submit the idea of a Consensus Theory of Post-Truth. Part 1 looks at the difference between Post-Truth, lies and bullshit. Part 2 suggests reasons behind the current preoccupation with Post-Truth. Part 3 focuses on Habermas’s influential consensus theory of truth to suggest that truth and Post-Truth have more in common than is generally assumed. (...) Since 2016, there has been an explosion of academic work and journalism that fixes its subject matter using the terms ‘fake news’ and ‘post-truth’. In this paper, I argue that this terminology is not up to scratch, and that academics and journalists ought to completely stop using the terms ‘fake news’ and ‘post-truth’. I set out three arguments for abandonment. First, that ‘fake news’ and ‘post-truth’ do not have stable public meanings, entailing that they are either nonsense, context-sensitive, or contested. (...) Secondly, that these terms are unnecessary, because we already have a rich vocabulary for thinking about epistemic dysfunction. Thirdly, I observe that ‘fake news’ and ‘post-truth’ have propagandistic uses, meaning that using them legitimates anti-democratic propaganda, and runs the risk of smuggling bad ideology into conversations. Artikkel lähtub Hegeli filosoofilise süsteemi mittemetafüüsilisest tõlgendusest ja keskendub ühele aspektile Hegeli dialektilise meetodi juures, mille iseloomustamiseks oleks autori arvates kõige adekvaatsem kasutada narratiivi mõistet. Artikli tees on kokkuvõtlikult järgmine: Hegeli arvates ei ole filosoofiline tõde väljendatav ühe lause või propositsiooniga, vaid see nõuab tervet väidete jada, kusjuures mõistete määratlused selles väidete jadas peavad suutma teiseneda --- nii nagu kirjandusliku jutustuse käigus võivad teiseneda tegelaste iseloom ja arusaamine asjadest . Lisaks neile kahele omadusele on narratiivile iseloomulik talle omaste struktuurielementide abil (...) loodud terviklikkus, mis võimaldab tal anda edasi sellist mõtet, mis ei sisaldu üheski narratiivi moodustavas lauses üksikult võetuna. Need kolm omadust võimaldavad Hegeli "dialektilisele" meetodile narratiiviteooria vahenditega uut valgust heita ja spekulatiivse tõe loomust paremini mõista. The paper discusses the nature of Hegel's dialectical method and criticizes its wide-spread interpretation according to the thesis-antithesis-synthesis formula. It is argued that there is no evidence of triadic structures in Hegel's works. Rather, the elements or "determinations" ) that make up the body of Hegel's texts, are organized as "series" that form circles, in which, as Hegel maintains, the last element leads us back to the first. If synthesis means creating something new by using the initial elements then it is problematic whether anything becomes synthesized in Hegel texts. The paper argues against interpreting the every third element of the series or the end-points of the series as synthetic unities. Instead, the paper proposes that Hegel's speculative method uses the form of narrative for creating a vessel that is able to express the "speculative truth" which is "fluid" and which requires a "plastic" form of presentation. Narrative can accomplish what a singular proposition and a deductive system cannot, because it consists of a series of claims that is able to express the movement of what is said in each claim, and because its ending creates a point at which the story as a whole obtains a meaning that is not expressed in any particular sentence constituting the story. Efforts to reorient narratives about today’s socio-economic systems along humanistic or eco-friendly lines are built on core units of culture called memes. This paper explores the memes used by progressive socio-economic initiatives to assess whether they are consistently and powerfully deployed, using the aspirational statements of 126 different initiatives, sorted into nine categories. The memes used by these initiatives demonstrate lack of consistency and lack of potentially resonant memes overall. Aspirational statements from both progressive and conservative think tanks are then (...) compared to see whether their messaging is consistently developed in their aspirational statements. Results indicate that memes associated with the neoliberal narrative are considerably more consistently used by conservative think tanks than is any coherent or consistent messaging by progressive think tanks, a finding that becomes more powerful when two- and three-word meme sets are considered.
