Abstract

Turbulent times are taking its toll on every essential aspect of social life, like education, school and teachers. We do not know what future will bring; our educational actions are affected by uncertainty. Who the teacher should be in restless times? How to bring up and educate, not knowing the potential problems of tomorrow? Finally, how to prepare a student, for our ever-shifting reality? The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the condition of the teacher in the changing world and attempt to find qualities and skills, which may transpire to be useful in the society of the future. Particular attention is given to the role model of the philosopher Socrates, as the groundwork for moral actions of the teacher.
