Abstract

This book is intended to be a useful philosophy of science textbook for undergraduate students majoring in science and engineering. The topics are selected on the basis of students’ interest and their contributions to class discussions. Philosophical jargons are kept to a minimum for the convenience of readers who do not major in philosophy. Renowned philosophers’ views about science are criticized and sometimes alternatives are defended. Study questions at the end of each chapter are intended to stimulate students to think for themselves about science.
