  • The case against mass media codes of ethics.Jay Black & Ralph D. Barney - 1985 - Journal of Mass Media Ethics 1 (1):27 – 36.
    Insights from First Amendment considerations and from developmental psychology are utilized in suggesting that whatever value codes of ethics may hold for the mass media, they represent serious difficulties in inculcating substantial ethical values in individual journalists and in the profession as a whole.
