  • Differential accumulation: Toward a new political economy of capital.Jonathan Nitzan - 1998 - [Journal (on-Line/Unpaginated)].
Existing theories of capital, neo-classical as well as Marxist, are anchored in the material sphere of production and consumption. This article offers a new analytical framework for capital as a crystallization of power. The relative nature of power requires accumulation to be measured in differential, not absolute, terms. • Beyond Capital: Marx’s Political Economy of the Working Class.Michael A. Lebowitz - 1991 - Palgrave-Macmillan.
Marxism has long been accused of economic determinism, reductionism and a silence on human experience. Beyond Capital argues that these problems can be traced back to Marx's failure to write his planned book on Wage-Labour. Added to this the subsequent ignorance of Marx's method, the result has been an inaccurate presentation of Marxian. Rather than rejecting Marx, Beyond Capital argues that his 'political economy of the working class' and the process of struggle are central for going beyond capitalism.

  • Notes on Competition, Capitalist Crises, and Class.Werner Bonefeld - 1999 - Historical Materialism 5 (1):5-28.
At the time of writing, history appears to be accelerating. The socalled Asian crisis, the disaster in Russia, and the Brazilian downturn show with brutal force that the long drawn-out crisis of capitalist accumulation has reached another impasse. Where might it all end?
