This paper introduces an innovative analogy between two conceptual trios: 'form, matter, substance' from Aristotelian hylomorphism, and the original 'metaphor, consciousness, emergence' trio, which, while inspired by contemporary philosophy of language, is a novel contribution not previously articulated in the literature. This exploration delves into the intricate interplay of these concepts, seeking to illuminate their profound interconnectedness and its implications for our understanding of reality. By redefining key terms and incorporating the overarching concept of 'thing', this study aims to unravel (...) the complex interplay within these trios and its consequences, thereby challenging conventional interpretations and inviting a reevaluation of fundamental philosophical principles. The analogy seeks not only to provide new perspectives for understanding the intricacies of these concepts but also to expand upon the definitions of the terms themselves. It endeavors to bridge the gap between metaphysical insights and linguistic theories, thereby offering a unique synthesis that contributes to both fields and enhances our conceptual vocabulary. Furthermore, the paper extends the discussion to monistic views of the universe, proposing a synthesis of diverse theories under a single, unifying reality. Just as Plato's allegory of the cave revealed truths about perception and reality, this paper attempts to uncover deeper metaphysical and linguistic connections. Cultural and natural heritage is among the priceless and irreplaceable assets, not only of each nation, but of humanity as a whole. The loss, through deterioration or disappearance, of any of these most prized assets constitutes an impoverishment of heritage of all the people of the world. It tells us about the traditions, the beliefs and the achievements of a country and its people. Tourism is concentrated in the predominantly Buddhist settlements of the Indus Valley, of which the ancient capital (...) and trading center of Leh. It is a land of rich culture, traditional knowledge and natural wonders. The strength of locals to tolerate the geographical and climatic extremities often leaves the visitors overcome with amazement. Visitors come to see a preindustrial culture, tour the Buddhist monasteries, and take in the dramatic mountain vistas. Over the years, Ladakh has gained popularity as a unique tourist destination. Mass tourism has acted as a powerful catalyst for change that is extremely challenging. Tourism has an enormous influence on the local economy, ecology and Society. The tourism economy is centered around Leh, and very little of the economic benefit of tourism accrues to the more than 90 percent of Ladakh is who live outside of this area. Within Leh the handful of Ladakhis who own large hotels benefit disproportionately. The openness and friendliness that Ladakh is have traditionally shown to visitors has been eroded by the commercialization of their culture and their understandable resentment toward the invading crowds. Theft, virtually unknown in traditional Ladakhi society, is now a common complaint among urban tourists and trekkers alike, and children now plague visitors for handouts. In the past few years, this unique culture has suffered great losses and indigenous communities, have included themselves in the fold of unchecked globalization, further damaging their cultural wealth. Tourism industry is crucial for Ladakh as a source of livelihood at the same time; it is posing a colossal threat to its cultural and environment legacy. No government or non-government organization can contribute to the conservation of the society without the participation of local communities. (shrink)

Hippocrate a contribué à l’évolution de la médecine grecque de son temps par ses observations détaillées sur les maladies et leurs effets, en insistant sur l’importance du régime et de l’environnement en ce qui concerne la santé des patients. Il s’est interrogé sur la moralité du praticien, son comportement et son attitude avec son patient afin de produire des normes éthiques solides pour départager sa médecine des conceptions magico-religieuses, des pratiques qu’il estimait douteuses, trompeuses. Certains aspects des textes du Corpus (...) Hippocratique ont été largement considérés pertinents par la médecine moderne, tout particulièrement en ce qui concerne les rapports médecin-patient. Dans l’article qui suit, nous nous intéressons au rôle de la confiance dans la relation médecin-patient au sein du Corpus Hippocratique : comment le corps des médecins hippocratiques joue-t-il un rôle dans la construction de la confiance avec le patient ? Nous soutenons que le corps du médecin agit comme élément essentiel dans l’établissement de la confiance et comme support de sa réputation. Or, si la relation de confiance médecin-patient est une condition fondamentale pour la pratique de l’art médical, la confiance est un facteur important et s’inscrit dans une approche où le malade est l’allié du médecin afin de combattre la maladie. Plus le patient a confiance en son médecin, plus le médecin hippocratique est apte à pratiquer son art médical et prêt à aider le patient dans son combat contre la maladie. Ainsi, pour répondre à la question posée, nous présenterons, en premier lieu, le contexte dans lequel le médecin hippocratique pratique son art. Cette présentation nous aidera à comprendre l’importance de la confiance, notamment en ce qui concerne son impact dans la relation médecin-patient, ainsi que de la quantité de données indispensables transmises par le patient au médecin. Nous serons alors en mesure, en deuxième lieu, de démontrer que le corps du médecin et le corps du patient sont des éléments fondamentaux dans l’élaboration de la confiance : corps comme vecteur de l’image du médecin et corps comme instrument. In this text, I try to examine in sufficient detail what is the exact function that Aristotle ascribes to deliberation in the Nicomachean Ethics (NE). More specifically, I intend to evaluate, in the light of the arguments built along selected passages from books II, III and VI of that work, how and to what extent deliberation plays an important role in the achievement of virtuous actions and in the consolidation of the virtuous character. Proceeding from an argumentative analysis that intends (...) to elucidate how some of the central concepts of Aristotelian ethical reflection are articulated, I shall defend, in the last part of my exposition, the interpretation according to which the function of deliberation is to produce long-term purposes that determine courses of action and that, if implemented accordingly to the orthos logos by the moral agent endowed with phronēsis, achieve the end of virtue of character.
