Metatotal Triadic Metastable RCR and Q-RCR Models This paper introduces the Recursive-Collapse-Recombination (RCR) Model, a non-hierarchical, metastable framework that captures the fundamental dynamics of self-organizing systems across multiple domains. The RCR model describes metastability as an emergent process driven by three interdependent forces: recursion (self-similarity and iterative structuring), collapse (destabilization and phase shifts), and recombination (adaptive reconfiguration of past structures). Unlike conventional models, RCR is fully triadic, non-linear, and self-regulating, ensuring that no single force dominates permanently. I further extend this (...) framework into the Quantum Recursive-Collapse-Recombination (Q-RCR) Model, which applies these principles to quantum systems, entangled structures, and networked intelligence. Q-RCR accounts for metastable quantum interactions, partial wavefunction collapses, and emergent recombination effects that mirror decoherence and non-classical transitions. Both models have been mathematically validated and stress-tested across domains including evolutionary biology, AI cognition, network theory, economic systems, and quantum mechanics. The results confirm that the RCR framework replicates key real-world dynamical behaviors while avoiding traditional deterministic constraints. This work suggests that the RCR process—rather than reductionist laws—underlies the persistence and transformation of complex systems, offering a unified model of metastable reality. The expanding moral circle lends coherence to the usual hodge-podge of canonical RCR topics. As it is in a person’s own interest to report falsification, understand fabrication, avoid plagiarism, beware of intuition, and justify one’s decisions, it is useful to begin RCR discussions with the principle that we ought to do what is in our own long-term best interests. As it is in the interest of a person’s research group to articulate their reasons for their conclusions, to write cooperatively, review (...) manuscripts professionally, and report statistics transparently, one can introduce the principle that we ought to keep our promises and contracts. As it is a basic matter of rights to respect human subjects, mentor inclusively, recognize intellectual property, and reveal both conflicts of interests and collaborations with private industry, an RCR instructor can introduce the idea that we ought to respect each individual’s moral rights. Finally, as many animals can feel pain, are subjects of their own lives, and have interests of their own, we must take seriously our role in their welfare as research subjects. In this last step, we expand the circle fully, considering animal experimentation, duties to future generations and the natural environment, and the larger social responsibilities of researchers while adopting a utilitarian principle: We ought to do what will maximize aggregate happiness. This scoping review addresses the issues of responsible conduct of research (RCR) that can arise in the practice of research-creation (RC), an emergent, interdisciplinary, and heterogeneous field at the interface of academic research and creative activities. Little is yet known about the nature and scope of RCR issues in RC, so our study examined three questions: (1) What are the specific issues in RC in relation to RCR? (2) How does the specificity of RC influence the understanding and practice of (...) RCR? (3) What recommendations could help address the issues highlighted in the literature To answer these questions, we conducted a scoping review of the academic literature (n = 181 texts) dealing with RCR in RC. We found that researcher-creators faced some very different RCR challenges in comparison with their colleagues in the rest of academia. Addressing these issues is important for both the RCR and RC communities in order to ensure that the rapid development of this field occurs in line with the norms of RCR which, nonetheless, should be adapted to respect the particularities of RC and allow its contributions to the academic world.
