    In this paper I examine the claim that businesspersons have what might be called "ethical immunity" with respect to the duty not to deceive. I describe important issues, identify some of the normative considerations animating them, and offer a roadmap of references for those wishing to learn more.     The market failures approach to business ethics argues that economic theory regarding the efficient workings of a market can generate normative prescriptions for managerial behaviour. It argues that actions that inhibit Pareto optimal solutions are immoral.
