  • Semi-demorgan algebras.David Hobby - 1996 - Studia Logica 56 (1-2):151 - 183.
Semi-DeMorgan algebras are a common generalization of DeMorgan algebras and pseudocomplemented distributive lattices. A duality for them is developed that builds on the Priestley duality for distributive lattices. This duality is then used in several applications. The subdirectly irreducible semi-DeMorgan algebras are characterized. A theory of partial diagrams is developed, where properties of algebras are tied to the omission of certain partial diagrams from their duals. This theory is then used to find and give axioms for the largest variety of (...)

  • Reasoning with logical bilattices.Ofer Arieli & Arnon Avron - 1996 - Journal of Logic, Language and Information 5 (1):25--63.
The notion of bilattice was introduced by Ginsberg, and further examined by Fitting, as a general framework for many applications. In the present paper we develop proof systems, which correspond to bilattices in an essential way. For this goal we introduce the notion of logical bilattices. We also show how they can be used for efficient inferences from possibly inconsistent data. For this we incorporate certain ideas of Kifer and Lozinskii, which happen to suit well the context of our work. (...)

  • The logic of distributive bilattices.Félix Bou & Umberto Rivieccio - 2011 - Logic Journal of the IGPL 19 (1):183-216.
Bilattices, introduced by Ginsberg as a uniform framework for inference in artificial intelligence, are algebraic structures that proved useful in many fields. In recent years, Arieli and Avron developed a logical system based on a class of bilattice-based matrices, called logical bilattices, and provided a Gentzen-style calculus for it. This logic is essentially an expansion of the well-known Belnap–Dunn four-valued logic to the standard language of bilattices. Our aim is to study Arieli and Avron’s logic from the perspective of abstract (...)

  • Defining double negation elimination.G. Restall - 2000 - Logic Journal of the IGPL 8 (6):853-860.
In his paper 'Generalised Ortho Negation' [2] J.Michael Dunn mentions a claim of mine to the effect that there is no condition on 'perp frames' equivalent to the holding of double negation elimination ∼∼A ⊩ A. That claim is wrong. In this paper I correct my error and analyse the behaviour of conditions on frames for negations which verify a number of different theses.
