By establishing ren (benevolence) as the supreme ontological foundation, reconstructing the Five Cardinal Norms (de, yi, li, zhi, jian — virtue, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, and frugality) as (...) its functional expressions, and innovatively introducing the Five Practical Manifestations (ai, xin, jing, xue, xing — compassion, trustworthiness, reverence, learning, and introspection) as actionable pathways, the study constructs a tri-level ethical system of "ontology-virtues-practice." Employing a methodology combining classical hermeneutics and interdisciplinary analysis, the research demonstrates the framework’s groundbreaking value across three dimensions: Philosophical Logic: Resolving the ambiguity of ren’s ontological status and redundancy in traditional virtues through a reconstructed substance-function (ti-yong) relationship. Practical Efficacy: Substituting xin (fidelity) with jian (frugality) as a core virtue to establish resource-restraint ethics.
