A Philosophical Analysis of Government Incentives during COVID-19 in Bangladesh.Md Lawha Mahfuz, Santana Kamal Jispa, Sajib Chandra Das, Tabassum Akter & Mst Meherunnesa Jui - 2024 - International Journal of Research and Innovation in Social Science (IJRISS) 8 (XV):87-111.
The paper assesses the adequacy of the incentives introduced by the government during the COVID-19 pandemic in Bangladesh from a philosophical point of view. In this way, it can put together philosophical analysis with intuition from the general public, into an interdisciplinary stand that connects economics and ethics. Furthermore, the study investigates whether those incentives conform to major ethical theories such as utilitarianism, distributive justice, and Kantian ethics. By discussing how these philosophical mechanisms apply to the government’s actions, the paper (...)

  2. "A Comprehensive Understanding of Free Will".Shathy Akter - 2021 - Anwesan 20 (1995-7947):169-184.
A proper examination shows that the existing definitions of free will are incomplete and implausible as, in addition of being partial, they involve various problems for why they fail to capture the idea of freedom in a true sense. In the present paper, the loopholes and incompleteness of these existing definitions have been identified. Besides, it has been argued in this paper that a complete and plausible definition of free will must contain both the surface freedom and the deeper freedom. (...)

  3. On the Distinction between Moral Responsibility and Moral Appraisability.Shathy Akter - 2022 - Anwesan (a Research Journal of Philosophy (XXI).
The issues of moral responsibility and moral appraisability are different issues even though many philosophers fail to distinguish between them. This paper distinguishes between moral responsibility and moral appraisability in the following way: (i) an agent may sometimes be held morally responsible without being morally appraisable for a particular action and (ii) an agent may receive resentment when the agent performs a praiseworthy action; and, an agent may receive gratitude when the agent performs a blameworthy action. In addition, the distinction (...)

  4. Theological Determinism & Free Will: A Philosophical Approach.Atikur Rahman & Mahia Tabassum Tamim - manuscript
Theological determinism challenges Free Will, an important part of the theistic view. Determinants claim that free will is incompatible with God's omniscience and that God is responsible for everything that happens. I argue in this paper that so-called theological determinism never denies free will and that free will is compatible with God's omniscience.

  6. Když se lidé mění ve lvy: problém překladu.Tomáš Kobes - 2015 - Teorie Vědy / Theory of Science 37 (3):303-325.
