  1. Forgetting Fatness: The Violent Co-Optation of the Body Positivity Movement.Cheryl Frazier & Nadia Mehdi - forthcoming - Debates in Aesthetics.
In this paper we track the ‘body positivity’ movement from its origins, promoting radical acceptance of marginalized bodies, to its co-optation as a push for self-love for all bodies, including those bodies belonging to socially dominant groups. We argue that the new focus on the ‘body positivity’ movement involves a single-minded emphasis on beauty and aesthetic adornment, and that this undermines the original focus of social and political equality, pandering instead to capitalism and failing to rectify unjust institutions and policies. 3. Presence of Amphibian Species Prediction Using Features Obtained From GIS and Satellite Images.Nadia Shaker Habib, Omar Kamal Abu Maghasib, Ahmed Rashad Al-Ghazali, Bassem S. Abu-Nasser & Samy S. Abu-Naser - 2020 - International Journal of Academic and Applied Research (IJAAR) 4 (11):13-22.
The establishment of the transport infrastructure is usually preceded by an EIA procedure, which should determine amphibian breeding sites and migration routes. However, evaluation is very difficult due to the large number of habitats spread over a vast area and the limited time available for field work. An artificial Neural Network (ANN) is proposed for predicting the presence of amphibians species near the water reservoirs based on features obtained from GIS systems and satellite images. The dataset collected from UCI Machine (...)

  4. How Ibn Sīnian is Suhrawardī's Theory of Knowledge?Mehdi Aminrazavi - 2003 - Philosophy East and West 53 (2):203-214.
It is demonstrated here that despite apparent differences and their adherence to two different schools of thought, Suhrawardī's epistemology is essentially Ibn Sīnian, and even his theory of "knowledge by Presence" ('ilm al-hudurī), which is considered to be uniquely his, is at least inspired by Ibn Sīnā. I argue that Ibn Sīnā's peripatetic orientation and Suhrawardī's ishrāqī perspective have both maintained and adhered to the same epistemological framework while the philosophical languages in which their respective epistemologies are discussed are different.

Optimal Allocation of Wind Turbines in a Radial Distribution Network Using a Two Step Method Based on Improved Teaching-Learning Algorithm.Mehdi Ershadi Nejad, Masume Hedayati & Sarah Khoei - 2018 - International Journal of Academic and Applied Research (IJAAR) 2 (10):33-39.
Abstract: In this paper, a two-stage method for the allocation of wind turbines with respect to their maximum capacity is used using the teaching-learning method (ITLBO). The location and capacity of the maximum permitted wind turbines are designed to reduce the distribution network losses and taking into account the operating constraints. The proposed method has been developed in two stages. In the first stage, the installation site of wind turbines in the network is considered as an optimization variable, and then (...)

Technical and Economic Design of Solar/Wind Hybrid Systems with the Goal of Minimizing the Annual Cost of Energy Using the Improved Teaching-Learning Algorithm.Mehdi Ershadi Nejad, Esmail Ghezi & Mohammad Reza Tashakori Sabzevar - 2018 - International Journal of Academic Engineering Research (IJAER) 2 (10):12-18.
Abstract: In this study, the optimization of solar-wind hybrid systems includes solar panels, wind turbines and batteries with the aim of minimizing system costs, including initial investment costs, maintenance and restoration of the balance of production and consumption power. The objective of optimizing the hybrid systems is to determine the capacity or number of solar and wind units together with the number of batteries. The optimization of the system has been made using the ITLBO improved learning-learning algorithm and for solar-only (...)

Does Person-Job Fit Among Nurses Really Matters? An Empirical Study: Effect of P-J Fit on Job Outcomes of Nurses of Pakistan with Agreeableness as a Moderator.Mahwish Sikander & Nadia Batool - 2021 - International Journal of Business and Economic Affairs (IJBEA) 6 (1):24-36.
The purpose of this study is to find out that whether the jobs of nurses in Pakistan are fulfilling their necessary requirements or not. This issue is being analyzed by the relation of Person-Job (P-J) Fit with three different JobBehaviors and the whole relation is being tested under the moderation of Agreeableness, which is a personality trait of the Big5 Model. A survey method is deployed, questionnaires are used to obtain data. 120 Nurses were accessed from different hospitals of Islamabad/Rawalpindi. (...)

Assessment of the Determinants of the Financial Security of Railways in Ukraine.Igor Britchenko, Bohomolova Nadia, Kravchenko Olga & Pinchuk Svitlana - 2018 - Financial and Credit Activity: Problems of Theory and Practice 4 (27):270-282.
he paper is devoted to the study of determinants determined the level of financial security of economic systems. It is shown that the financial security of an economic system implies the achievement of a level of financial stability that will contribute to simultaneously maintaining financial equilibrium and ensuring targeted growth in line with the development strategy. The level of financial security of rail transport in Ukraine was analyzed and it was determined that the decline in its security was the result (...)

Mohammad Arkoun (1928-2010) Muslim intellectual, offered "Islamic Criticism" projects, "Applied Islamology" and finally the "Critical Rational Future" project "Negar" with the aim of reviewing and transforming the understanding of the religious text and offering solutions to overcome the decline of Islamic civilization. His main scheme is the critique of Islamic reason, but the methodology is Applied Islamology. Content Neutrality: A Defense.Joseph Dunne - 2019 - Journal of Ethical Urban Living 2 (1):35-50.
To date, both the United States federal government and twenty-one individual states have passed Religious Freedom Restoration Acts that aim to protect religious persons from having their sincere beliefs substantially burdened by governmental interests. RFRAs accomplish this by offering a three-pronged exemption test for religious objectors that is satisfied only when (1) an objector has a sincere belief that is being substantially burdened; (2) the government has a very good reason (e.g., health or safety) to interfere; and (3) there is (...)

The Complexity of Respecting Together: From the Point of View of One Participant of the 2012 Vancouver Naaci Conference.Susan T. Gardner - 2012 - Analytic Teaching and Philosophical Praxis 33 (1):1-12.
Dedication: I would like to dedicate this essay to Mort Morehouse, whose intelligence, warmth, and good humour sustains NAACI to this day. I would like, too, to dedicate this essay to Nadia Kennedy who, in her paper “Respecting the Complexity of CI,” suggests that respect for the rich non-reductive emergent memories and understandings that evolve out of participating in the sort of complex communicative interactions that we experienced at the 2012 NAACI conference requires “a turning around and looking back (...)
