    Understanding the relationship between experts and laypeople is crucial for understanding today’s world of post-truth and the contemporary crisis of liberal democracy. The emergence of post-truth has been linked to various phenomena such as a flawed social and mass media ecosystem, poor citizen education, and the manipulation tactics of powerful interest groups. You need only make the lie “big enough” to get one over on them. I put forward an elegant solution to the fanatic’s problem.     Komentarze prasowe należą, obok tekstów satyryczno-rozrywkowych i komentarzy redakcyjnych, do tekstów o dużym potencjale illokucyjnym i silnym działaniu opiniotwórczym, choć wielu autorów, m. in. Nowag i Schalkowski, zwraca tu uwagę nie na ich charakter opiniotwórczy, perswazyjny, lecz bardziej na ich funkcje służące wyjaśnianiu, uzasadnianiu, argumentowaniu reprezentowanego stanowiska czy poglądu. Komentarz istnieje intertekstowo, zawsze w odniesieniu do notki prasowej, jako jej uzupełnienie. Na przykładzie komentarzy prasowych, dotyczących przyznania Polsce i Ukrainie organizacji EURO 2012, omówione zostało ich znaczenie funkcjonalne oraz strukturalne.
