Recently, we have been trying to find out how to innovate our research method. For an analytical approach like BMF, it is even more difficult as BMF is the product of a many-year process of deliberate designing and optimizing. Fortunately, such innovation has appeared through the fictional details of The Kingfisher Story Collection, which gave birth to a subsequent series of innovations in working cultures, philosophies, principles, theories, methodology, and practices of the AISDL team. However, one important question remained: What (...) is the true meaning of Kingfisher? Why do we have so deep a connection to it? At first, we thought the Collection’s embedded humor and freedom of thought were the reasons. We aim to support researchers in social sciences and humanities in conducting and publishing their studies on a global scale, especially Early Career Researchers (ECRs) and those in low-resource settings. For that purpose, AISDL created the Science Portal for the Serendipity-Mindsponge-3D (SM3D) Knowledge Management Theory.

This week, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announced the names of Nobel laureates in different fields. This year, the Nobel Prize in Biomedical Sciences was awarded to Swedish geneticist Svante Paabo for his discoveries concerning the DNA sequence of apes and human evolution. His work is especially meaningful as the question of human origin has long been a major concern to mankind. Modern-day wise humans belong to the genus Homo sapiens, along with seven ancient human races that existed millions (...) of years ago. Over time, many species became extinct and Professor Paabo discovered the gene transfer of these extinct species to Homo sapiens. Serendipity is defined as an ability to notice, evaluate, and take advantage of unexpected information for survival purposes (both natural and social). Based on this definition, Nancy K. Napier and Vuong Quan Hoang propose a framework to develop the notion of serendipity as a strategic advantage (or competitive advantage), both in practice and in research.
