The article explored the relationship of the notions of "spirit", "spirituality" and "personality". Their meaning in the philosophy of G. Hegel J. Fichte, F. Nietzsche, N. Hartmann, N. Berdiaev, S. Franko and modern Ukrainian philosophy is analyzed. It was found that Hegel has the concept of the personality of the Roman jurists’ spiritual qualities: personality is not only a person who has property but it is personification. It is the opinion of the personality of the scholar is able to be (...) objective foundation of the state and of social existence and ensure the equality of people in the state. Studied Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, Berdiaev, Franko, Buber traced philosophical affinity of the views of Hegel. It is discovered that tradition combines with the concept of the four levels of spiritual development of man from the position of the proposed concept analyzed the content of the concepts of "spirit", "spirituality", "personality". It is proven that the human spirit is the personal quality of the level of development that causes her to act with the interests of society, population. The spirit of this principle that dictates a person personal way of life, abandon the selfishness of they own benefits. Spirituality is a belief in the ability to achieve moral purity and the level of the individual, which must be not only personification of the spirit, and metaphysics the foundation of public life. Yah boo sucks to the grammer wot we lernt in skool! Grammar (and the bad old traditional logic) says that quantifier phrases such as 'nobody', 'everyone', 'all women', 'some men' and 'a man' are in the same category as names such as 'Milly', 'Molly' and 'Mandy'. So, prior to their first corrective lessons, students are awfully muddled, the first and fundamental problem being the Woozle hunt for somebody called 'nobody'. Hoorah for modern logic and logic teachers! The story used to (...) justify our current logics is entirely fictional. The claims about names and quantifier phrases in English are wildly false. Two of the heroes of modern logic, Russell and Hilbert, make the very mistakes which are falsely blamed on traditional logic. The villain, Meinong, turns out to have been working a different patch. Ideas ascribed to traditional grammar are modern inventions. Neither logicians nor grammarians can be trusted to tell the history of either grammar or logic. (shrink)

У статті проведено культуро філософський аналіз феномену особистості як визначального в соціокультурному та освітньому просторі сучасного особистого суспільства у порівнянні з особливостями філософського розуміння цього феномену в освітньому контексті епохи модерну, співзвучної сьогоденню. Виявлення типових проекцій минулих епох, традиційною з яких є усвідомлення змісту понять «людина» та «особистість», на фоні складності і неоднозначності сучасної соціокультурної ситуації сприятиме подальшим пошукам ефективних чинників взаємодії особистості і суспільства в освітньому просторі, що динамічно трансформується.

This book is a study of the philosophy of arithmetic in one of the most significant periods of its history—from Frege to Carnap—prefaced by an account of Kant. Potter aims at a philosophical history, a story told from an explicit interpretative perspective. These theories of arithmetic are seen as attempts to account for its “source of content” and “source of concepts.” Potter never explains these terms; I take the former to be the thing that, when we have knowledge of it (...) or insight into it, provides the ultimate justification for pure and applied arithmetical discourse. That is, Potter’s principal concern is both ontological and epistemological: what determines, and how do we know, the truth of the statements that express our putative arithmetical knowledge? The criterion of success of a theory of arithmetic is how well it explains arithmetic’s simultaneous necessity or apriority and empirical applicability. Potter divides the theories he discusses into four main types, determined by their accounts of the “source of content” and “concepts”: sensibility, thought, language, and the world. At the end, Potter finds that none succeeds in accounting for all of arithmetic: at best some capture the infinity of the natural numbers, but none gives the “source” of arithmetical concepts. But the “similarities … between the scopes of the various approaches” suggest a Gödelian moral for Potter’s tale: the philosophy of arithmetic must treat concepts of “thought structures or … contents,” where “reflection upon the meanings” of “propositions about these mental objects” is needed for their proofs. Аналізуються проблеми та суперечності реалізації мовної політики держави; зазначається, що при втіленні державної мовної політики в Україні наразі належні умови піднесення української мови до рангу домінанти повною мірою не створені. Автором обґрунтовуються пропозиції щодо посилення мотивації використання державної мови та підняття її престижу.

Аналізується позиція антиглобалістів стосовно позитивного чи негативного значення глобалізаційних процесів для людини, її життєвого середовища; головна думка антиглобалістів полягає в тому, що глобалізація у існуючому вигляді звужує життєвих простір менш успішних країн за рахунок яких забезпечується процвітання так званого «золотого міліарду»; автор підкреслює, що антиглобалісти постійно акцентують увагу світової спільноти на небезпеці культурної уніфікації, «американізації» й вестернізації, що проявляється сьогодні як утвердження загальних культурних універсалій − системи цінностей західноєвропейської культури, яка активно упроваджується за допомогою ЗМІ. Для антиглобалістів більш природніми є (...) ідеї культурної толерантності й мультикультуралізму як особливої практики і політики безконфліктного співіснування в одному життєвому просторі безлічі різнорідних культурних груп; полемізуючи з антиглобалістами, автор підкреслює, що кожна країна визначає власну стратегію та тактику модернізації, але найголовнішою її метою є створення механізмів самовдосконалення й самовідтворення суспільства як цілісної системи, яка є конкурентною у забезпеченні життєвого простору людини у глобальних процесах сучасності. The widely held assumption about what motivated On Denoting is irreconcilable with Russell's position shortly beforehand; but discarding it leaves one with a carefully worked out solution whose problem is missing. The real motivation is to be found in a notoriously obscure passage in OD, in which Russell exposes a decisive (though easily overlooked) flaw in his former theory of denoting; a flaw which also cripples Frege's theory of sense and reference. A comprehensive account of this passage is the chief (...) concern of the present paper. Recognizing the critical role of this argument of Russell's leads to a more credible account of his argumentation in that essay. It also suggests that the fundamental standpoint underlyingThe Principles of Mathematics remains intact. In this light, the appropriation of OD to the philosophy of language may be misguided. There are major global challenges: the technogenic pollution of the globe, the climate change, the rising of the sea level, the decrease of resources, primarily oil, and others. The rapidity of the subsequent negative changes requires fast, cardinal and principally innovative approaches to the formation of urban life. Most modern cities have become major pollutants of the biosphere and, thereby, entail degradation of population. This paper examines the principles and methodology of urban transformation in biosphere, which are compatible to human (...) development. We suggest a hierarchy of methodological principles of urban management, which embraces all issues from the interaction with the biosphere up to the creation of conditions for favorable, comfortable and safe life. Reading the Timaeus as an early attempt at mathematizing natural science runs into serious difficulties. The so-called Platonic Solids are five in number, one more than the traditional 'elements'. Plato provides a proportional ratio for these elements but this ratio fails to tie in with their geometrical features. Appealing to the authority of mathematics appears to be a rhetorical move with no further consequences.
