Harold Rosenberg was undoubtedly the most important American art critic of the twentieth century. Denoncant l'opposition recue entre la genese et la structure, l'auteur procede a un examen minutieux de la constitution de ces principes, en s'appuyant sur les deux Discours et l'Emile - Rousseau lui-meme disait que son systeme y etait formule -, mais (...) surtout sur le Discours sur l'inegalite, dont le present travail etudie le contenu et les prolongements.
