A Finite Element Analysis (FEA) model of the automotive weather strip seal was then developed and analysed using the linear FEA software Abaqus to determine the deformation and thickness reduction in areas prone to wrinkling. Finally, the critical criteria for wrinkle formation were determined through reaction force analysis in these areas. This study conducts a detailed friction-based performance analysis of stabilizer bar bush seals through numerical simulations. Utilizing state-of-the-art Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools, the research aims to evaluate how varying levels of friction coefficients impact the mechanical integrity and functionality of bush seals within automotive stabilizer bars. By systematically altering the friction coefficients from 0.1 to 0.5, the investigation assesses the resulting changes in reaction forces and stress distribution across the seal components. The primary focus is on understanding how different (...) friction settings influence the operational performance of the seals, particularly in terms of wear patterns, durability, and the ability to maintain effective load transmission between the stabilizer bar and its adjoining components. Key performance metrics such as seal deformation, stress resistance, and longevity under cyclic loading conditions are analyzed to provide insights into the optimal frictional properties required for maximizing seal efficiency. The outcomes of this simulation study are expected to offer valuable guidelines for the design and material selection of bush seals, aiming to enhance the overall stability and noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) characteristics of automotive suspension systems. Recommendations for future research will include exploring the impact of material heterogeneity and geometric modifications on the frictional behavior of stabilizer bar bush seals. In this paper an explanation of the theory and the architecture of the tool is outlined. Furthermore, implanting of requirements, cognitive principle, and common design fundamentals in the tool to ease the use of teachers. The research aims to identify the trends of Palestinian higher educational institutions in Gaza Strip as learning organizations from the perspective of senior management in the Palestinian universities in Gaza Strip. The researchers used descriptive analytical approach and used the questionnaire as a tool for information gathering. The questionnaires were distributed to senior management in the Palestinian universities. The study population reached (344) employees in senior management is dispersed over (3) Palestinian universities. A stratified random sample of (182) employees from (...) the Palestinian universities was selected and the recovery rate was (69.2%). Statistical analysis (SPSS) program was used for analysis and processing the data. The study found the following results: There is an agreement about: the importance of the focus of "organizational structure" with an average approval, the importance of "technological infrastructure" axis with high approval, and the importance of "strategic" with an average approval. The results concluded that the study sample agree on the importance of "organizational dimension" highly. The results showed that the sample believe that the "strategic leadership" level in the universities got medium-approval. There is a fair level agreement about the axis of interest "teams / committees". There is an agreement about the importance of the "human dimension" moderately. The results showed that the sample is highly agreed about the importance of focus of the "knowledge management", and the focus of the "continuing education". They agreed weakly to somewhat about the importance of the focus of "scientific research", moderately agree about the importance of the center of "institutional culture", agree moderately on the importance of "cognitive dimension". The results showed that the sample largely agree on the importance of the focus of "strategic partnerships and alliances". They agree highly on the axis "keep up with the labor market" and on the focus of the importance of "technology incubators". The results showed that the sample moderately agree about the importance of the theme on "consulting and training", the importance of the focus of "social responsibility", and the focus of the "Community dimension". The study found a group of recommendations including: there is a need to provide suitable environment that achieve learning organizations. There is a need to develop the technological infrastructure (hardware, software, networks, databases, and human skills) because of the great advantages that they offer. The universities need to adopt knowledge management in the academic and administrative departments because knowledge is the core of the work of these departments. The establishment of technology incubators in universities to adopt outstanding university research projects, to protect, to supports, and to market them; furthermore, to develop the capabilities and skills of employees in the field of information technology. Abstract: Rice is one of the most important staple crops in the world and serves as a staple food for more than half of the global population. It is a critical source of nutrition, providing carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals to millions of people, particularly in Asia and Africa. This paper presents a study on using deep learning for the classification of different types of rice. The study focuses on five specific types of rice: Arborio, Basmati, Ipsala, Jasmine, and Karacadag. A (...) dataset of 75,000 images was collected and annotated, consisting of 15,000 images for each of the five types of rice. The deep learning system uses convolutional neural networks (CNNs) to classify images of rice grains based on their physical characteristics. The performance of the deep learning system was evaluated using metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score. The results show that the proposed deep learning system was able to achieve high accuracy in classifying the different types of rice, outperforming traditional image processing techniques. This study provides valuable insights into the potential of deep learning for classifying different types of rice and can be useful for applications such as quality control in rice processing industries and research in crop science. The large size of the dataset, 15,000 images for each type of rice, helped the deep learning system to learn the features of each type of rice, and increase the performance of the classifier. The attained overall accuracy of the proposed model (99.96%), Precision (99.96%), Recall (99.96%) and F1-score (99.96%). Thus, the proposed model proved that it leaned the five categories of rice and it can generalize these categories and it is effective. (shrink)

Methods: In this paper, the design of the proposed Expert System was produced to help farmers and those interested in agriculture in diagnosing many of the Bean diseases such as Fusarium wilt, Charcoal rot or ashy stem blight, Bacterial leaf spot and blight, Mung bean yellow mosaic virus, Cercospora leaf spot. The proposed expert system presents an overview of Bean diseases are given, the cause of diseases outlined and the treatment of disease whenever possible is given out. CLIPS Expert System language was used for designing and implementing the proposed expert system. Results: The proposed Bean diseases diagnosis expert system was evaluated by Agricultural experts and some friends interested in agriculture and they were satisfied with its performance. According to epistemic ideology critics, a belief or set of beliefs is ideological when it (a) empowers those responsible for disseminating these beliefs and (b) lacks compelling independent justification. In their view, any beliefs that satisfy these criteria are defective and ought to be debunked. I contest this claim by showing how, under conditions of political crisis, it is often both epistemically unwarranted and pragmatically inadvisable to debunk apparently ideological beliefs. I specifically examine the type of beliefs that constitute what (...) are commonly called “emergency frames.” An emergency frame is a system of beliefs concerning the nature of a severe collective threat and the best way to combat that threat. I argue that, due to the uncertainty inherent to many crisis situations, emergency frames often lack independent justification. Because this lack stems from unavoidable epistemic constraints, it should not be seen as a flaw that warrants debunking. I begin by outlining the notion of epistemic ideology critique (Section 1). In Section 2, I argue that if we apply this notion of ideology critique to the case of emergency frames, these frames often appear to be ideological and therefore seem to warrant debunking. In Section 3, however, I show why it is sometimes epistemically unwarranted and pragmatically inadvisable to debunk such frames. According to the literature review, there is much room for improvement of college student retention. The aim of this research is to evaluate the possibility of using deep and machine learning algorithms to predict whether students continue to attend college or will stop attending college. In this research a feature assessment is done on the dataset available from Kaggle depository. The performance of 20 learning supervised machine learning algorithms and one deep learning algorithm is evaluated. The algorithms are trained using (...) 11 features from 1000 records of previous student registrations that have been enrolled in college. The best performing classifier after tuning the parameters was NuSVC. It achieved Accuracy (91.00%), Precision (91.00%), Recall (91.00%), F1-score (91.00%), and time required for training and testing (0.04 second). Additionally, the proposed DL algorithm scored: Accuracy (93.00%), Precision (93.00%), Recall (93.00%), F1-score (93.00%), time required for training and testing (0.66 second) for predicting whether student will continue to attend college or not. Researchers and practitioners are increasingly using machine‐generated synthetic data as a tool for advancing health science and practice, by expanding access to health data while—potentially—mitigating privacy and related ethical concerns around data sharing. While using synthetic data in this way holds promise, we argue that it also raises significant ethical, legal, and policy concerns, including persistent privacy and security problems, accuracy and reliability issues, worries about fairness and bias, and new regulatory challenges. The virtue of synthetic data is often understood (...) to be its detachment from the data subjects whose measurement data is used to generate it. However, we argue that addressing the ethical issues synthetic data raises might require bringing data subjects back into the picture, finding ways that researchers and data subjects can be more meaningfully engaged in the construction and evaluation of datasets and in the creation of institutional safeguards that promote responsible use. Increasing parts of the world population have rudimentary reading and writing skills but limited command of grammar, syntax and spelling. This functional illiteracy has detrimental effects on labor market participation, population health and political stability. Geographies of illiteracy also include affluent societies like the Netherlands, a country that is not only illustrative of a widespread phenomenon, but arguably also a bellwether of things to come elsewhere in the world if these developments are not reversed. This exploratory paper focuses on two (...) institutional spaces where the literacy crisis is conventionally addressed: schools and public libraries. We argue that while each has a contribution to make, neither institution is currently able to curtail the trend, partially because preferred literacy promotion methods are incongruent with rapidly evolving changes in the literacy landscape, especially regarding youth communication. We consider three possible responses to our current literacy crisis and conclude that efforts to curb functional illiteracy require a pragmatic and multi-pronged approach, and perhaps even some counterintuitive strategies. I explore how endurantists are to handle cases of synchronic bi-location, in which a thing bi-locates at a time (such as by time-travel). I argue that endurantists face significant pressure to posit distinct but structurally identical facts (DSIFs), and critique the fragmentalist approach to bi-location in Simon (2018). Both the positive argument and critique are animated by the observation that handling bi-location cases requires perspicuously describing their spatiotemporal and causal structure. The study aimed to identify the reality of the use of social networks in the technical colleges in Palestine, where the variables of social networks were included. The analytical descriptive method was used in the study. A questionnaire consisting of (12) items was randomly distributed to college workers Technology in the Gaza Strip. The sample of the study consisted of (205) employees of these colleges. The response rate was 74.5%. The results showed a high degree of approval for the dimensions (...) of the social networks and a relative weight (74.15%) according to the perspective of the employees of the technical colleges in the Gaza Strip. The results of the study showed that there is a high level of social networking areas (site management and Website Content) in the technical colleges in the Gaza Strip. The field of site management ranked first with a relative weight of 74.91%, and second and last (Content Site) with a relative weight (73.38%). The results showed that there were differences between colleges in the use of social networks where the results showed that the most common colleges used these networks (UCAS) and the least used is (GTC). The results showed no differences between male and female employees in the use of social networks in technical colleges. The researchers suggest a number of recommendations, including: the need to raise awareness of the importance of Facebook and other social networking sites, through the holding of courses for employees in technical colleges, and to identify the ways to optimize the use of such sites, and the benefits of this use, and reflected positively on technical colleges. And the adoption of dealing with the various social networking sites as a reality, and the Palestinian and Arab technical colleges, use them in accordance with the objectives of technical colleges. Advise the Department of Technical Colleges to devote time to their presence on social networks to follow the public and respond to their queries. There is a need for the attention of decision-makers in technical colleges in social sites, because they are considered an important and effective means of communication, and the link between beneficiaries and decision-makers. This work presents the design of an expert system that aims to provide the patient with background for suitable diagnosis of some of the eye diseases. The eye has always been viewed as a tunnel to the inner workings of the body. There are many disease states that may produce symptoms from the eye. The present study is aimed at contributing to the growing literature around the application and relevance of AI in education, among others. Specifically, this work is centered around the constructs of AI literacy, as well as attitudes towards AI among pre-service teachers at three higher education institutions offering teacher education programs in Central Luzon, Philippines. Similarly, data pertinent to the respondents’ attitudes towards AI were gathered through an adapted instrument with a 4-point Likert scale, consisting of 26 items distributed across (...) 3 components namely, Cognitive; Affective; and Behavioral. Using convenience sampling, the researchers were able to collect responses from a total of 61 consenting respondents. Salient findings revealed that the same respondents have a generally positive attitudes towards AI, and only a generally moderate level of AI literacy. Important implications to the current teacher education curriculum and its relevance in light of the advent and integration of AI in teaching and learning, were drawn. Particularly, the researchers proposed in the backdrop of the findings that an enhanced teacher education curriculum by way of AI use integration be considered, among others. As a preliminary work towards AI literacy among pre-service teachers in the Philippine setting, this study further called for further research and academic work towards such endeavors. (shrink)

Universal Generalization, if it is not the most poorly understood inference rule in natural deduction, then it is the least well explained or justified. The inference rule is, prima facie, quite ambitious: on the basis of a fact established of one thing, I may infer that the fact holds of every thing in the class to which the one belongs—a class which may contain indefinitely many things. How can such an inference be made with any confidence as to its validity (...) or ability to preserve truth from premise to conclusion? My goal in this paper is to explain how Universal Generalization works in a way that makes sense of its ability to preserve truth. In doing so, I shall review common accounts of Universal Generalization and explain why they are inadequate or are explanatorily unsatisfying. Happily, my account makes no ontological or epistemological presumptions and therefore should be compatible with whichever ontological or epistemological schemes the reader prefers. (shrink)

ABSTRACT This study evaluated the effects of postpartum diseases and body condition score (BCS) on the reproductive performance of dairy herds. Cows were monitored during the postpartum to diagnose diseases and changes in BCS. The cows were divided into those with no disease and those with one or more diseases. The incidence of diseases, pregnancy rate (PR) at the first postpartum service, number of days open, percentage of pregnant cows at 150d, and gestational loss were analyzed. No difference was observed (...) between healthy and diseased cows in the PR at the first service or for days open. Diseased cows showed greater gestational loss and the percentage of pregnant cows at 150d postpartum was higher among healthy cows. Cows with a BCS ≥ 3.0 at prepartum had a lower PR at the first service and shorter days open. In this chapter, I will demonstrate why the ceaseless advocacy for ‘teaching the controversy’ in schools is both naïvely optimistic for what it hopes to accomplish, and ill-advised for what it fails to consider vis-à-vis the conditions necessary for its implementation. It is naïvely optimistic for what it expects of ordinary teachers under the conventional working conditions in most schools. And it is ill-advised because such exercises are only likely to exacerbate – rather than mitigate – tensions in both classrooms (...) and communities of diverse background and opinion. Nothing in what I will argue should mean that I believe that successfully ‘teaching the controversy’ in schools is impossible. As is the case with even the most rigid of patterns, there are always exceptions, and hence it is reasonable to expect that there are a few teachers who will successfully pull it off with finesse. Exceptional teachers do exist. Nevertheless, I will demonstrate why exceptional teachers only serve to prove the rule. Indeed, I aim to show why even the rare teacher who does possess the relevant training, competence and moral courage is nevertheless prudent to abstain from broaching controversial material in class. The slow learners face difficulties in the understanding of concepts and require more time and diversified teaching techniques. The approach presented here focuses on early and accurate identification of slow learners by modern technology, data analysis, and personalized learning plans. A quiz-based classifier combined with a 3D interactive model allows for the student to receive personally tailored recommendations and study material. (...) Emotion recognition from speech is an important aspect of human-computer interaction (HCI) systems, allowing machines to better understand human emotions and respond accordingly. This paper explores the use of machine learning techniques to recognize emotions in speech signals. We leverage the librosa library for feature extraction from audio files and train multiple machine learning models, including Support Vector Machine (SVM), Random Forest (RF), and k-Nearest Neighbors (k-NN), to classify speech emotions. It is our pleasure to write this first post in 2025 about the last article in 2024, with the hope for a more fruitful year of work for the better of our shared environmental concerns.

As of January 20, 2024, we recorded 168 documents (including articles, books, proceedings, and lectures) that have used Bayesian Mindsponge Framework (BMF) analytics/Mindsponge Theory (MT) substantively. This number has increased by 31.25% since the previous record on July 9, 2023. The documents have been authored or co-authored by 330 researchers from 215 institutions in 38 countries, of which 67% come from developing/emerging countries. Among 330 users, 32 are registered members of the SM3D Portal.

This essay explores the concept of emergence within the framework of noncommutative systems, challenging traditional views that tie emergent behaviour to commutative rule sets. Emergence typically refers to the phenomena where higher-level complexity arises from the interactions of simpler components, often under deterministic and commutative systems. However, noncommutative systems, where the order of operations affects the outcome, introduce a unique layer of complexity that complicates this understanding. By examining the properties of noncommutative systems through formal mathematical analysis and exploring case (...) studies from quantum mechanics, this essay investigates whether emergence can genuinely arise under noncommutative conditions. The findings suggest that noncommutative rule sets lead to a richer and more intricate form of emergent behaviour, characterised by path dependence and sequence sensitivity. This challenges our existing models of complexity and opens up new pathways for understanding emergent phenomena in both physical and cognitive systems. The implications of this analysis extend beyond theoretical curiosity, suggesting that emergent properties may exist in unexpected and non-linear domains, reshaping our perception of order, chaos, and complexity. This system utilizes YOLO (You Only Look Once) for object detection to capture ladle numbers and their locations accurately. The project enhances operational efficiency by reducing manual errors, improving safety through real-time monitoring, and optimizing ladle usage.

This project presents a dynamic wireless charging system for electric vehicles (EVs) with the Arduino Uno microcontroller as the main controller. The system features a transmitter (TX) coil embedded in roadway infrastructure and a receiver (RX) coil installed in the vehicle unit, enabling continuous charging while in motion. Energy is wirelessly transferred from the TX coil to the RX coil through electromagnetic induction. The Arduino Uno microcontroller serves as the central control unit, managing power transmission, monitoring charging status, and regulating (...) voltage levels. Yet, over 12000 people die everyday due to a tardy blood donation or lack thereof. This might seem quite negligible in front of the absolutely over abundant population of India as a whole, but is still appalling when seen at a monthly or a yearly rate. Date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.) seeds, often regarded as agricultural byproducts, have recently garnered scientific interest due to their rich profile of bioactive compounds. In this study, Libyan date seeds from three cultivars (Saidi, Hamarai, and Degla) were analyzed to evaluate their physicochemical properties, including moisture, protein, ash, and phytochemical constituents. Phytochemical screening revealed the presence of tannins, flavonoids, carbohydrates, saponins, coumarins, fixed oil, and steroids across all cultivars, though alkaloids were notably absent. Proximate analysis demonstrated distinct compositional differences: Saidi (...) seeds exhibited the highest protein (6.7%) and lowest moisture content (5.9%), whereas, Hamarai seeds recorded the lowest protein (5.5%) and highest moisture content (8.6%). Degla seeds displayed intermediate values (5.6% protein, and 7.4% moisture). All cultivars shared identical ash content. These findings underscore the potential of Libyan date palm seeds as sustainable sources of natural therapeutic agents and nutritional supplements. (shrink)
