  1. Blue Infrastructures: An Exploration of Oceanic Networks and Urban–Industrial–Energy Interactions in the Gulf of Mexico.Asma Mehan & Zachary S. Casey - 2023 - Sustainability 15 (18):1-14.
Urban infrastructures serve as the backbone of modern economies, mediating global exchanges and responding to urban demands. Yet, our comprehension of these complex structures, particularly within diverse socio-political terrain, remains fragmented. In bridging this knowledge gap, this study delves into “boundary objects”—entities enabling diverse stakeholders to collaborate without a comprehensive consensus. Central to our investigation is the hypothesis that oceanic infrastructural developments are instrumental in molding the interface of urban, industrial, and energy sectors within marine contexts. Our lens is directed (...)

The article presents the reasons for which the issue of providing housing to low-income citizens has been a real challenge in Addis Ababa during the recent years and will continue to be, given that its population is growing extremely fast. It examines the tensions between the universal aspirations and the local realities in the case of some of Ethiopia’s most ambitious mass pro-poor housing schemes, such as the “Addis Ababa Grand Housing Program” (AAGHP), which was launched in 2004 and was (...)

The rapid proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices in smart cities has introduced numerous benefits, enhancing urban efficiency, sustainability, and automation. However, these interconnected systems also pose significant cybersecurity challenges, including data breaches, unauthorized access, and cyberattacks that can compromise critical infrastructure. This paper explores various cybersecurity strategies tailored for IoT environments in smart cities, focusing on encryption techniques, secure authentication mechanisms, network security protocols, and blockchain-based security models. Additionally, it discusses machine learningbased anomaly detection systems to (...)

Social machines are systems formed by technical and human elements interacting in a structured manner. The use of digital platforms as mediators allows large numbers of human participants to join such mechanisms, creating systems where interconnected digital and human components operate as a single machine capable of highly sophisticated behaviour. Under certain conditions, such systems can be described as autonomous and goal-driven agents. Many examples of modern Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be regarded as instances of this class of mechanisms. (...)

A Balanced Economic Model: The Feedback Loop Between Public and Private Sectors with MMT as a Stabilizing Mechanism -/- Introduction -/- Modern capitalism thrives on competition, profit motives, and consumer demand. However, the system is flawed because it allows extreme wealth inequality, market instability, and frequent economic crashes. Advertising, as an essential part of capitalism, manipulates consumer behavior to sustain profits. We analyse three factors that affect the scope of an agent’s blameworthiness in these cases: shared intentionality, interpersonal influence, and common knowledge. Each factor involves circumstantial luck. The more each factor is present, the greater is the scope of each agent’s vicarious blameworthiness for the other agents’ contributions to the harm. We then consider an agent’s degree of blameworthiness, as distinct from her scope of blameworthiness. (...)

In addition to the introduction of Renewable Energy Sources (RES), the joint use of the spatial migration capacity of IDC workload and the temporal flexibility of the demand of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCSs) provides an important means to change the carbon footprint of the IDC. In this paper, a sustainability improvement strategy (...)

Blended Learning to Overcome Inadequate Infrastructure.A. Arthi - 2025 - International Journal of Engineering Innovations and Management Strategies 1 (10):1-9.
Blended learning is a teaching approach that combines traditional in-person instruction with digital resources to create a more adaptable and accessible educational experience. This hybrid model blends the strengths of classroom teaching with the flexibility of online tools like virtual classrooms, e-books, and digital assessments, helping to overcome many of the challenges found in conventional education. Traditional education systems often face issues such as limited access to quality resources, outdated instructional materials, and inadequate teacher support, especially in remote or underserved (...)

The exponential growth of data storage requirements has become a pressing challenge in hybrid cloud environments, necessitating efficient data deduplication methods. This research proposes a novel Smart Deduplication Framework (SDF) designed to identify and eliminate redundant data, thus optimizing storage usage and improving data retrieval speeds. The framework leverages a hybrid cloud architecture, combining the scalability of public clouds with the security of private clouds. By employing a combination of client-side hashing, metadata indexing, and machine learning-based duplicate detection, the framework (...)

Philosophical Implications of Existence in the Interconnected Universe.Robert Somazze - manuscript
Abstract** This paper illuminates the journey of discovery in understanding universal interconnectedness, examining how seemingly complex relationships between quantum and cosmic phenomena become elegantly simple once properly understood. Following Galileo's insight that truth, once discovered, reveals its inherent simplicity, we explore how the connection between universes via quantum-classical bridges might represent such a fundamental truth—one that, once grasped, transforms our understanding of consciousness, reality, and human existence. This work charts both the path of discovery and the resulting clarity it brings (...)

The article is devoted to the prospects of creation and functioning of cooperative banks and development banks in Ukraine. The article deals with the peculiarities of cooperative banks and development banks. Sci-entists analyzed the views on the activities of banks and their impact on economic development. The article deals with the peculiarities of development and operation of the cooperative banks of developed countries: Germany and Poland. A three-tier model of national cooperative bank system has been suggested. The influences of developments (...)

Portcityscapes as Liminal Spaces: Building Resilient Communities Through Parasitic Architecture in Port Cities.Asma Mehan & Sina Mostafavi - 2023 - In Saif Haq, Adil Sharag-Eldin & Sepideh Niknia, ARCC 2023 CONFERENCE PROCEEDING: The Research Design Interface. Architectural Research Centers Consortium, Inc.. pp. 631- 639.
Port Cities are historically the places for paradigm shifts, radical changes, and socio-economic transitions. In particular, the interaction zone between the port infrastructure and urban activities creates liminal spaces at the forefront of many contemporary challenges. In these liminal spaces, the port's flows, form, and function intertwine with urban contexts and conflict with the living conditions. Conceptualizing the portcityscape and harborscape as liminal space and urban thresholds leads to (re)thinking about innovative participatory methods and technologies for building community resilience (...)

Comprehensive Detection of Malware and Trojans in Power Sector Software: Safeguarding Against Cyber Threats.A. Sai Lochan - 2024 - International Journal of Engineering Innovations and Management Strategies 1 (11):1-14.
The increasing reliance on digital technologies within the power sector has introduced considerable cybersecurity risks, especially from malware and trojans. These threats can disrupt essential operations, manipulate grid functions, and compromise the integrity of energy systems, thereby endangering both economic stability and national security. This research aims to create a detection framework tailored to the specific challenges of the power sector. The proposed framework utilizes advanced methods such as behaviour based anomaly detection, machine learning algorithms, and both static and dynamic (...)
